Verfall: Walkthrough for Verfall – Part 1: Exploring the Beginning

This is a guide for Verfall, focused on guiding the sequence of the main story. We won’t delve into detailed explanations of the game’s systems, as there are other guides for that. You begin controlling two characters who are investigating a catastrophe in a city. The first mission is straightforward: rescue five lost children.

The first child can be found just below the starting position.

At this location, you can also find the first secret area. Inside, you’ll obtain the code for the Decadence phase chest.

After saving the children, you’ll meet two new characters: the Forest Guardian and the Wolf. They are surrounded by monsters and must escape through the forest. Along the way, you’ll find areas protected by fences that monsters cannot cross. These are safe zones where you can pause and plan your escape. Inside these zones, you’ll see a blue circle indicating jump platforms, which allow you to leap over the monsters. If you get surrounded and die, you’ll restart at the beginning of the phase to try again. You can watch the video showcasing the first 10 minutes to get an idea of how to escape. Remember, these monsters cannot be defeated.

After successfully crossing the forest, the scene transitions to the throne room. By interacting with the ruler, a cutscene reveals that several strange events are occurring throughout the kingdom. The queen declares that these phenomena must be investigated and sends various adventurers to look into them.

We now progress through several stages where we are introduced to the remaining heroes of the game. First, we control three adventurers who set out to investigate the Tomb of Adama. In this section, we learn more about the game’s mechanics, such as named enemies (which trigger turn-based battles) and unnamed enemies, which must be avoided. Additionally, we are introduced to treasure chests and the leader-switching feature, accessible by clicking the character buttons on the left side of the screen.

To the north of the map, you will find a gate blocking access to the other levels of the tomb. The adventurers return to the queen to warn her about the gate.

We now move on to the introduction of the fighter and the captain. They start in a coastal city, where they are preparing to set sail on their ship. However, upon interacting with one of the crew members, they learn that they need some items. The crew member can be found near the ship. In this phase, we get to know the social skills, which allow more in-depth interactions with NPCs. As the captain, try interacting with the people in the city to uncover clues about the items needed.

Below are the locations where the NPCs can be found. After interacting with them, they will give you hints about where the materials you need are located. The items will only appear after speaking with the NPCs

After the cutscene on the beach, Now we go to the desert, where we meet two other members who are investigating, under the queen’s orders, a tower that has appeared in the desert

Go to the tower and continue with the adventure.

We follow Doktor as he goes after the kingdom’s protector in the City of the Dead. After an interaction, the group reunites. Return to the starting gate and head south to continue.

Doktor should head north to meet the Outcast.

Go back to the south gate and proceed through the portal.

After the investigations and introduction of the characters, we go to the throne room where the characters give a summary of what’s happening in the kingdom. The queen then orders her daughter to assemble a group of heroes to investigate the Tomb of Adama, as everything seems to be related to him

After a cutscene, the group of heroes begins investigating the Tomb of Adama.

Take the opportunity to find the chests, whose locations are in the images, and don’t forget to equip the items you’ve found. To see and use the jump platforms, make sure to have a leader with the physical skill selected, in this case, the princess, and stay alert if the sensor notifies you of any other interactions that require a different leader

On the last floor of the Tomb of Adama, find Melancholy and win the fight. Afterward, interact with the angel that appears; he is Adama.

In the throne room, Adama explains to the heroes that the seal of evils is breaking, and it’s only a matter of hours before they are freed. Adama then creates power orbs that allow the heroes to exchange karma for magical power. Adama explains that now they must form teams to face the evils, but there is no time to train and evolve. Therefore, they must fight with the heroes available, whether they are strong or weak

The scene shifts to Adama, who must choose which sin to face. After a cutscene, Adama is in the castle courtyard where he must select the heroes who will confront the sin

By interacting with the heroes, you can form your group as you wish, but be careful with the karma. If you want to change the group, simply use the orbs in the center to reset the group.

You can head towards the south gate and enter the city, where you can gather information about the phase you’ll face, craft items, buy and sell, as well as complete small quests. On the castle map, at the gate to the right, you’ll find the airship platform that will start the selected phase. Only approach the airship if you’re sure you’re ready. On the airship map, it’s possible to buy potions or undertake a parallel quest in action mode to gain extra resources.
