9th Dawn III: Quest Log – complete reference

There are 70 quests (main quest plus 69 side quests) that are recorded in the quest log. I am fairly certain that I completed every quest in the game, but if you find a quest that I missed, please let me know and I will add it to the guide.

I have broken the quests down by location and quest giver. For the most part, they are self-explanatory and easy to complete. It is beneficial to complete as many as possible because nearly all of them grant rewards of skill points and/or inventory items.

Ghenril – Main quest; gets constantly updated throughout the campaign.

Foddy – Fetch “special ingredients” from the sewer to learn cooking.

Medium John – Craft x10 smelly broths and x15 fried rat tails (or fried rat tail salads).

Wizardess Jimeah – Fetch x8 snake fangs to learn alchemy.

Charloenne – Show her a wild creature that has been tamed.

Blonir – Fetch x10 green snake skins.

You can also talk to Jospeth to learn the basics of creature taming but that does not count as a quest in the log.

Fithswin – Open the gate to Firlun by going through Luppi Ruins.

Estelene – Update the main quest.

Hoppson – Fetch slate of poetry from Fort Hinuol to learn mining and smelting.

Milland – Craft x20 small iron ingots to learn armor smithing.

Rilleno – Unlock at least one magic spell to learn magic weaving.

Dornir – Fetch x20 goblin eyes.

Coswin – Fetch magic saw from Giirhun’s Den to receive lower shop prices (beneficial for archery since Coswin sells arrows).

Fishy Tim – Fetch x1 fried rat tail salad and x15 dirty fish to learn fishing. You can also visit Tim twice on the fishing pier: once on the pier next to his shop (during off hours), and again on the pier behind the armor shop (but only on Fridays) to receive gifts of bait.

Rasirth – Update the main quest.

Mitten – Fetch x25 green hirn scales to learn weapon smithing.

Gemmy Le-Gem – Fetch x25 goblin blood to learn jewel smithing.

Winholo – Craft x15 iron helms.

Pleon – Fetch x7 pike fish.

Vlendo – Fetch stolen goods from Bandit Hideout.

Tonahd – Fetch lost artifact from Sinrock underground.

Sanniyyh – Fetch x10 bewitched bones.

Esrell – Find his missing brother in the Yorgun Mine (it is more beneficial to complete this quest by telling Esrell that his brother was a hero).

Deeslthin – Fetch stuffed toy from Vlendo’s shop. This quest eventually leads to the Shadow Guild; it is recommended to buy the stuffed toy from Shadow Heron and return it to Deeslthin to complete the quest. You can return to Shadow Heron later and join the guild by paying a fee.

Senrilh – Update the main quest.

Seasony Sam – Craft x3 special roasted meat and deliver to Prylo in Holdune.

Thenoth – Fetch x20 small gold ore to receive magic pickaxe.

Troutman – Fetch x15 gross frogs.

Sizeable John – Fetch x3 legendary mushrooms.

Dlemnir – Show him a party of five tamed creatures.

Blinmo – Show him a tamed curfian and a tamed felworm.

Loppeni – Purchase the crystal bean from him.

Freeis – Collect x15 shiny cards from playing Fyued.

Saussy – Fetch x15 rhagdolos horns.

Chemson – Prove your skill in alchemy.
Cadty – Prove your skill in melee combat.
Quiss – Prove your skill in magic destruction combat.

I believe that for all of these “prove your skill” quests the required skill level is somewhere between 30 and 40.

Domyu – Fetch lost armor trinket from Smuggler’s Den.

Satdy – Fetch a rideable camel.

Crossi – Fetch x15 cactus sap.

Wunfied – Fetch x25 lich skull.

Blossun – Purchase the alchemist gift box from Cradley.

Mundurl – Show him a level 50 tamed creature.

Yarrn – Prove your skill in magic weaving (skill level 40 required).

Gorimene – Beat everyone in Rhunden at Fyued.

King Lorwyck – Update the main quest.

Flelsin – Fetch the book Anvil Confessions from the Krinsor Dam.

Werline – Invest 10,000 gold into his shop.

Juntilf – Craft x10 power gems.

Ilsul – Fetch x15 lurtak blubber.

Feast Maker – Craft a variety of dishes that require fish as an ingredient.

Sheechan – Fetch x10 benny fish.

Drengal – Show him a party of ten tamed creatures.

Plonbun – Fetch x10 snow ball.

Kheenle – Fetch ancestral ladder from Donlin Pass.

Yunrul – Take his broken broach to Juntilf to get it fixed.

Ingirn – Become a “pro” at Fyued by winning 100 games.

Yenderh – Collect 70 shiny cards from playing Fyued.

Steeph – Find her missing cat Max.

Uunndal – Fetch x50 apion eye.

Sholwisk – Update the main quest.

Dhortu – Fetch x25 small frost ore to receive legendary pickaxe.

Ressem – Craft x3 Feast of Fish, x3 Feast of Meat, and x3 Feast of Veg.

Wetfish – Fetch x1 blue salmon fish, x1 red salmon fish, and x5 king carp fish.

Nmolm – Show him a tamed ice demon.

Flundy – Find her missing pet wolf Harry.

Quunb – Fetch x15 dragon horn.

Vennbel – Collect 110 shiny cards from playing Fyued.

If you completed Esrell’s quest by telling him that his brother was a hero, you can also talk to Berrshin for an additional reward, but it does not count as a separate quest in the log.

These quests are given by NPCs who are located outside of the towns.

Nameless Companion – Free him from the locked room near Firlun and he will join your party.

Stable Master – Fetch camel license from Hole of Kol and pay 100,000 gold to receive rideable camel.

Ghostly Rena – Fetch recipe list from the cellar to learn tea recipes.

Flonyrin – Fetch x15 naric scales. Flonyrin is camped along the coast north of the naric nest.

Buhuk the Head Librarian – Find and read all other skill books to receive the secret book.

Biiig John – This quest is only given after beating every other NPC in the game at Fyued, including all of the Johns who run the taverns. Medium John will give you a key to Biiig John’s house which is located near the Torghul travel post. You must beat Biiig John (and the secret Fyued champion after him) to complete the quest.

Shadow Heron – Join the Shadow Guild. Recommended to leave this quest until the end of the game because it requires killing many NPCs which is very inconvenient if you are still trying to complete quests for them.
