Learn how to unlock every achievement in The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC with this comprehensive guide. This accurate and detailed guide will provide you with all the necessary information to achieve 100% completion in the game.
Introduction
There’s a great deal of missable content in game, making collecting all the achievements in a single run quite meticulous. Don’t fret, however, as we’ll cover it all! This guide will be walkthrough style and follow the game from beginning to end, detailing what you need to do at every turn.
I can’t guarantee to avoid every spoiler, but I will try my best to keep them as minimal as possible, especially for any major plot twists and turns. At the end of each chapter, we’ll have a tally of what you should have so you know if you missed anything.
I cannot stress enough to utilize the ability to have a multitude of save files just in case! Our goal is to avoid having to do multiple runs to unlock everything. If you have any further questions or need additional help, feel free to post in the comments below and I’ll address them the best that I can.
Happy hunting!
Walkthrough – Pre-Prologue
When you return home and the game cuts to the animated introduction, you’ll be greeted with the start of the prologue. It’s time to start achievement hunting when this appears:
Walkthrough – Prologue
Walkthrough time!
Head upstairs to your room to gather your belongings, then back down to meet Kurt and Anelace to learn what the training entails. You’ll learn you’ll be heading west to the Balstar Channel. After speaking with Kurt, talk to Phyllis to obtain your recipe book and your first recipe: Nature’s Bounty.
Next, buy a copy of Liberl News – Issue #1 from Phyllis and at least one “Herb Sandwich”. Head over and set up your quartz for each party member, then head outside to meet Kurt just south of the lodge.
Once you reach the Balstar Channel, you’ll finally be able to sink your teeth into the combat and start exploring. There are 14 treasure chests in the channel, so make note of them, collect the loot and CLICK THEM TWICE FOR THE PASSPHRASE!.
Viewing the passphrase of a treasure chest is vital (just like the previous game), as the game only counts treasure chests as “obtained” if you do so, otherwise you’ll never have them count towards the achievement.
There are a total of 14 treasure chests here and two of them are monster-in-a-box types, meaning that when you open them, you’ll immediately enter a fight with a larger-than-normal group of monsters. The monster laden chests are the two in the water.
Take into consideration that everything down here is weak against fire, so any fire magic will instantly kill anything you’re facing. Ripple Frogs love calling in reinforcements, so make those your priority with any fire arts.
Once you’ve completed the Balstar Channel, you’ll return to the lodge and rest for the night. Feel free to adjust any gear, slots, quartz or buy any supplies from Robert. Once you’re ready, turn in for the night. You’ll be woken up by the sound of fighting and given two options: go to bed, or check it out. For an additional +[3BP] select the option:
- “Wake up!”
You’ll wake up and learn that you’re under attack by an unknown assailant(s)? Grab your gear and hightail it outside!
You’ll need to defeat the Jaeger soldier that breaks into the lodge through the back window for an additional +[3BP].
Defeat the Jaeger and reinforcements will arrive and smoke the place up before escaping.
You’ll somehow end up in an unknown forest with all your gear missing and no sign of Kurt or the others. When prompted, select the option:
- “The attacking Jaegers”
You’ll earn another +[3BP] from selecting it. Now it’s time to explore the Saint-Croix Forest, figure out what happened and, of course, collect some treasure chests along the way. Before you leave the area, examine the tent nearby for a few handy supplies.
Once you’re ready, follow the map below and collect all eight treasure chests. They contain all your missing gear and then some, so be wary in the beginning of fighting the local monsters, as they will do significant damage until you can locate some of your armor.
Be ready for a fight before you leave, as you’ll encounter another Jaeger solider just before leaving. Choose to fight and beat the hell out of them, then return to the lodge to scope out the place and see if you can piece together what is going on and if anyone else is okay (or worse).
Investigate the training grounds and make note to examine the following:
- Investigate the blood stain at the entrance of the lodge.
- Investigate the broken window the Jaeger soldier broken through.
- Investigate the empty barrels in the kitchen.
- Investigate the torn map by the dinning table.
- Investigate the broken orbal phone where Robert was stationed.
- Conclude the investigation and pick the conclusion: “Move to a new base”.
Before you leave the lodge for Grimsel Fortress, go upstairs to the room that was locked prior; it is now unlocked. Collect the book Gambler Jack – Vol. 1 (make sure to read it). Once you’re ready, head to Grimsel Fortress.
Enter the fortress, go through the first door and take an immediate left to find two treasure chests: one in each of the rooms on that side. There are a total of six in Grimsel Fortress. Once you collect those two, the hallway dead-ends, so return the way you came and take the door to your right this time.
Continue until you hit a dead-end, then go into the room on the left and flip the switch to open up the rest of the hallway. Take the door on the left first and collect the treasure chest, then out and take the door on the right next (the one you just passed). You’ll find another switch; pull the lever.
Exit and continue forward; you won’t get far before you’re blocked once again. Take the room to your left and pull that third lever to gain access further into the fortress.
Continue onward until you come across a monster battle in the hallway (you have to fight them). Defeat the group and continue up the stairs to the second floor. Advance until you come to a very dark room filled with cargo. Go east and enter the door on the side for a pair of night vision goggles.
On the opposite wall from the night vision goggles, is another room with a second treasure chest. That is all that’s in the maze of crates, so proceed forward until you hit another set of stairs. Proceed to the next floor and down a few more hallways.
Eventually, you’ll encounter a third set of stairs and the final treasure chest in the fortress. Collect it and proceed up the flight of stairs.
Eventually you’ll reach the end and be confronted by another Jaeger soldier. When prompted, select the option:
- Don’t NEED to contact”
Win the fight and prepare for a whole lot of cutscene before you finally venture off towards the end of the prologue and right into chapter 1. Additionally, you’ll unlock your first achievement!
Complete the Prologue.
Walkthrough – Prologue Checklist

- Books (Doll Knight) — For achievement “Blue Knight”.

- Treasure Chests — For achievement “Baby, Come Back”.
- Wanted Monsters — For achievement “Bounty Hunter”.
- Evil Penguins — For achievement “Penguin de Samba”.
- Fishing — For achievement “Master Fisher”.
NOTE #1 – We will total 16BP when starting chapter #1 and finally turning in our jobs, so if you don’t earn that when you finally make it to the guild, you missed something along the way.
NOTE #2 – You should have three recipes in total, but if you did not consume the items, you may have less. You should have “Nature’s Bounty”, “Herb Sandwich” and the “Surprise Cookie” that was in the Grismel Fortress. I’d recommend making/eating them as soon as you can just to mark them, but it isn’t necessary.
Unlike in the first game, simply learning the recipe doesn’t count towards your total. For it to track on Steam and in game, you must cook the item at least once for it to count. As long as you have the recipe, feel free to cook them whenever you might feel like it. If your numbers don’t match the checklist, just check your recipe list to double-check.
Walkthrough – Chapter 1
First, feel free to enter the airship building where you buy tickets if you want to see two adults act like children. Once the show is over, buy a copy of Liberl News – Issue #2 from the shop keep on the left and then speak to Sasha on the right to obtain your boarding passes to Ruan.
While on the airliner, head inside the passenger cabins and you’ll see Lloyd looking out the window. Stop by and say hello and he’ll give you his fishing book, a fishing rod (Progrss Rod), then head to the front of the ship and speak to Crew Member Clare, who was on the very ship that was hijacked by bandits in the first game.
Make a last stop in the captain’s helm at the front of the ship and catch up with the crew down there. Once you do, it’ll be time to off-board in Ruan. You’ll automatically head to the local Bracer Guild before given back autonomy.
First things first, if you didn’t get Liberl News – Issue #2 before boarding the Linde, you can find it again at the O’Neil Duty-Free Shop in Ruan. If you have already acquired it, head to the Lavantar Bar & Casino. Stop by the bar and pick up at least one “Azelia Kiss” for the recipe; it doesn’t hurt to have a spare, though. Nature’s Bounty is also there in case you missed it earlier at the training grounds lodge in the prologue.
Go upstairs to the newly completed casino and talk to the cashier to exchange some mira for some medals so you can gamble.
Once you obtain it, feel free to move on unless you want to test your luck at it. Next, I headed over to the slots in the corner. There are two mandatory goals here for the gambling achievement. First, it is your choice, but you either need to score 21 in blackjack, or play slots and win a 7-7-7 jackpot.
These are an either or; doing both only nets you one point in the achievement (tested and confirmed), so no need to do both unless you feel like playing them for fun.
The second requirement is far more difficult; you need to obtain a four-of-a-kind in poker. Any four cards will do, but it has to be this type of hand. This can be either extremely quick, or, more than likely, a lengthy process of grinding out the hand.
Once you do, you’ll earn another point towards the gambling achievement and then the only thing left is to locate all 14 volumes of the book “Gambler Jack“. Use your winnings and trade in some tokens for the Marine Star (fishing rod) and the book Gambler Jack – Vol. 2. Feel free to pick up anything else that piques your interest as well.
With our gambling addiction satiated for the time being, head to South Ruan where the warehouse district is located. Here, you’ll fun into Lloyd, who will show you how to spot prime fishing spots.
He’ll also set you up with some starter bait to use in the meantime, but the rest you’ll have to find off various monsters since you can’t buy this type of bait in stores. Shame…
Fish off the docks where he brought you and see what comes up. To fish, simply select the appropriate rod, bait and when you see the “!” above Estelle, tab [A] (or your equivalent button) to pull the line up and (hopefully) catch a fishy.
IMPORTANT NOTE – You need to catch one creature for the spot to count. There are, in game, 26 variety of sea creatures you can catch. 25 regular types and one special type that does not count towards the achievement. You need all 25 types.
Additionally, there are two out-of-the-way spots on the shorelines of Gull Seaside Way.
North Ruan also has a fishing spot that is fairly east to spot. Take the lower levels under the bridges to access it and feel free to fish there to earn the second mark in the achievement. Next, visit the Aqua Rossa Bar in South Ruan and sample the “Sea Breeze Soup” and their “Prime Salmon Grill” for your recipe achievement. Afterwards, head the warehouses and find the only one that is unlocked and head inside to speak to the Ravens.
Complete the events at the warehouse with the Ravens and then head to the spot by the Mayor’s mansion in Ruan as they told you to further advance the story. After speaking with Belden, collect any active jobs from the Bracer Guild and then head out of Ruan for the first time and make your way down Gull Seaside Way from North Ruan.
Once outside, go straight at the fork to stay on the coastline. Use the map below to collect all eight treasure chests and to defeat the Gull Seaside Way monster that is a job you should have from the Bracer Guild. At this point I doubled back to Ruan to turn it in and buy some supplies with the mira, as I was running low.
*CLICK THE MAP FOR EASIER VIEWING*
You’ll want to make your way to Manoria Village. Once there, stop by The White Magnolia Inn and speak to the cook to collect three new recipes:
- Garden of Seaden
- Sea “Bubble”
- Miso-Stewed Fish
-
Follow the road to the north end of the village to the Manoria Byroad, then to the Varenne Lighthouse. Run to the top and speak with Mr. Vogt; when prompted, select the answer:
- “Is there something you need done?”
Read the manual on the bookshelf on how to test the lighthouse’s new gear. Once you complete the diagnostics for the lighthouse, talk to Mr. Vogt and select:
- “Anything else we can do for you?”
This will conclude the secret job “Lighthouse Test Run”. Before you go, the next fishing spot is just on the west cliffside that Mr. Vogt mentioned. Make sure to fish there!
Fishing Spot #5 – Varenne LighthouseReturn to Manoria Village and head over to the windmill by the cliff for furtherance of the story. Head back to The White Magnolia Inn and look to the cliff just next to it for your six fishing spot. Cast your rod and see what you get.
Fishing Spot #6 – Manoria Village (The White Magnolia Inn)When you’re done, return to the inn and make your way to the second floor. Take the first door on your left and speak to the man there for the “Come, Ingredient Hunters!” job.
It’ll be a familiar face; once you’re done talking select the option to have the job explained to you. He’ll give you a list of ingredients he wants and also asks that you bring him 5-6 of anything you find that is not on the list provided.
Walkthrough – Chapter 1
On the trail, obtain the following:
There is only one lone treasure chest to pick up, which can be done right outside Ruan as shown on the map to the side.
The monsters in question (Roadrunner & Gourd Boar) can be found dotted all along the trail to the Air-Letten Checkpoint, so dispatch however many you need to obtain the items, then continue to the checkpoint to further the plot.
Head inside and take the door on the right side to enter the mess hall to pick up a new recipe:
- Salt-Roasted Fish
- Herb Sandwich (if you missed it)
Make your way to the room opposite the front entrance and speak to Chief Warrant Officer [CWO] Hahn for more plot progression, then head to the second floor and speak with Private Nix for even more plot!
After speaking to him, take a stab at fishing off the walkway down into the waters below.
Get to casting! Here fishy fishy!
Once you’re done, return to Ruan and visit the Bracer Guild to turn in what you know for now.
Now that we’ve turned in everything thus far, make your way to the Ruan hotel, Hotel Blanche, and speak to Santos to start the next job, “Sapphril Tower Photo”.. He’ll be in the room on the left when you first enter the hotel. Once you obtain the camera, we’ll do a bit of a detour first before heading to the tower.
Leave through North Ruan and head to the Mercia Orphanage for more plot, then back to Manoria to visit the Sunday school there (attached to the windmill). Return to Ruan for now and head back to the Bracer Guild to report the last eyewitness sighting, then to the drawbridge that separates north and south Ruan.
After the commotion there, you’ll return to the guild to discuss the sighting and come to a decision where you should select:
- “Where the White Shadow went.”
You’ll earn +[3BP] for this answer. Collect the three new jobs: “Sunday School Lecturer”, “Krone Trail Monster” and “Aurian Causeway Monster”. Now we can finally head to the Sapphril Tower for that photograph. When you reach the junction in the road, engage the wanted monster to complete the “Aurian Causeway Monster”. You can find him as shown below:
This wanted monster has extremely high resistance to magic and their hits can knock you out for 1-2 turns fairly often. Make sure you’re ready and saved before facing them. I returned to Ruan and turned in the job and re-supplied before returning to Sapphril Tower, but that is optional.
There are 11 treasure chests to find in the area. The first one is to the right of the stairs just before you enter the tower. The remaining ten are inside the tower itself, between floors 2-5. There are no treasure chests on the first floor, nor the roof. You’ll also need some ingredients while we’re here.
There is also a spot to fish on the 5th floor of the tower, just before the roof, so make sure to do so to check that location off your list.
When you’re ready, make your way to the top and stand between the columns and select the orbal camera. Attempt to take a picture, and, when prompted, select:
- “Ask Dorothy”
This will earn you +[2BP] when you turn in the job. Return to Santos to deliver the photo and the camera. He’ll still be in his hotel room in Ruan. Once you’re done with the job, report to the Bracer Guild to turn it in, stock up on anything you need, then head back to Manoria Village. Return to The White Magnolia (2nd floor) to turn in all your ingredients you’ve collected for the “Come, Ingredient Hunters!” to complete this job.
Before we turn it in, let’s tackle “Sunday School Lecturer”, too. Return to Ruan and head to the chapel in town and speak to Sister Frieda. Eventually, you’ll be peppered with questions. Guess each one right for +[2BP]. They are as follows:
- Protection of the peace and citizenry of local regions.
- Seven ranks from G to A.
- Non-interference with state powers.
- Prioritize the safety of civilians.
- You are required to be at least 16 years of age.
- Prioritize client’s intent.
- The royal army forces.
- Guild code principle 2.
- 42 arge.
Once you’re done, return to the Bracer Guild to turn in both jobs. You should now have just two remaining: “Vista Forest Road Monster” and “Krone Trail Monster”. Leave Ruan once again and make your way towards Varenne Lighthouse, but instead, take the other fork you ignored long ago.
You’ll find Manoria Byroad and on the second screen of the road, you’ll find the one treasure chest in the area as shown here:
Collect the treasure chest and keep making your way towards Krone Trail.
We’re going to hunt down the Krone Trail monster and complete this job. Additionally, we need to collect two treasure chests from the region. Both chests are hidden.
The first on the west end is behind a cliffside and the eastern one is under a patch of trees. Make sure to dispose of the wanted monster on the Krone Trail indicated on the map below:
Return towards Ruan, but make a detour through the Vista Forest Road outside the city (road leading to Jenis Academy) for the final wanted monster in the area and, the final job available at this point in time.
When you enter the Vista Forest Road, continue on until you reach the second screen. Check the map and you’ll see the road branch in two different directions.
The wanted monster is on the southern section. Return to Ruan to turn in this final job, which should put you at [39] Bracer Points.
Now, head straight to Jenis Academy!
Once the cutscenes and plot have been explained, you and Kloe will begin your investigation. Head downstairs and you’ll end up in the cafeteria. Stop by to pick up the following new items for your recipe collection:
- Young Lady Plate
- Hot-Hot Potato Fry
- Royal Gelato
- Herb Sandwich (if you still need it)
Walkthrough – Chapter 1
Speak to Mickey inside the room. Continue down the hallway to the Auditorium and go on stage for more plot progression, as well as the 2nd floor of the Clubhouse in the Materials Archive where Hans is researching. Talk to him for more plot.
Also on the 2nd floor of the Clubhouse, you can find and interview Roy in one of the 2nd floor rooms and Monika in the girls’ locker room, too. Head back to the Academy Schoolhouse and go to the 2nd floor. In the main entrance just past the stairs is Richelle. Interview her next.
On the same floor is Logic, located in the Social Studies room and Patrick by the bulletin boards in the main lobby (same floor).
Once you’re done, head outside. If you interviewed and talked to everyone that you can, it’ll fast forward to evening. Return to the Student Council Room to inform everyone of what you’ve learned. After more plot, head to the Old Schoolhouse and head inside.
First, go forward and immediately climb the stairs and go left. Enter the hallway and take the first door on the right-handed wall. There will be a treasure chest inside the classroom. In total, we’re going to locate 21 treasure chests here.
The clues are as follows:
Head to the two rooms on the first floor opposite the treasure chest you found upstairs. There, you’ll find two doors. One for using the key and another, which leads outside, will have a second treasure chest. Grab that before using the key. Once inside, examine the dragon statue.
So far you’ve collected two treasure chests on the school grounds. Once you descend the stairs, you’ll need to locate another 19 treasure chests. The basement isn’t terribly large, but it does have a lot of corridors. Even so, its fairly easy to navigate without a map.
There are 11 treasure chests on the first floor of the basement and 8 on the second floor of the basement. At the end of basement two, use the orbal checkpoint to heal, save and then enter the room for a whole heaping of story!
Once you finish, you’ll have completed chapter 1 and unlocked the following achievement:
Complete Chapter 1.
Walkthrough – Chapter 1 Checklist
- Bracer Points — For achievement “League of Extraordinary Bracers”.
- Books/Gambling (Gambling Jack) — For achievement “Ramblin’ Gambler”.
- Books (Doll Knight) — For achievement “Blue Knight”.
- Anton Locations — For achievement “Odyssey of Anton”.
- Recipes — For achievement “Master Chef “.
- Treasure Chests — For achievement “Baby, Come Back”.
- Wanted Monsters — For achievement “Bounty Hunter”.
- Evil Penguins — For achievement “Penguin de Samba”.
- Fishing — For achievement “Master Fisher”.
NOTE #1 – After finishing Chapter 1, you’ll return to Ruan, which gives you time to collect anything you might be missing from this chapter. Do so before boarding the airliner.
NOTE #2 – This number may be lower, as learning the recipe alone doesn’t increase the count, but making it after learning the recipe does. As long as you’ve learned the dish, you can make it whenever to up the counter.
Walkthrough – Chapter 2
If you want to, cook up some “Surprise Cookies” and “Perilous Meetballs” and exit out to the Gull Seaside Way area. By now, the monsters out here aren’t all that strong, so you can dispatch them quickly.
Find any monster and reduce their HP to around half (give or take), then use one of these decadent treats on them. Surprise, you’ve been battered by a cookie and torched by a meatball! Mwahaha!
If you do it ten times, you’ll unlock your third achievement:
Kill 10 enemies with food. That’s right. Food.
With that done, take jaunt after to the the Bracer Guild and pick up the job “Recruiting Great Gamblers”, then go to the first floor of the Lavatar Casino and Bar and speak to Lakeisha on the first floor, next to the staircase.
The rules will be explained and then you’ll have to select three options, one for each party member (Kloe will sit out) that goes against Lakeisha’s husband at the poker table. Depending on whether you picked Agate or Scherazard as your party member in the very beginning, select the following options when prompted:
Scherazard is the companion:
- Estelle goes first. Select “Swap Leaving One Pair”, and “Challenge” as the next option.
- Olivier goes second. Select either option, and “Fold” as the next option.
- Scherazard goes third. Select “Exchange Everything But The Spades”.
If Agate is the companion:
- Agate goes first. Select either option, and “Challenge” as the next option.
- Oliver goes second. Select either option, and “Fold” as the next option.
- Estelle goes third. Select the “Exchange All Cards” option.
Return to the Bracer Guild to turn in the job and that will put you at 49[BP] so far. Next, head over to the hotel and speak with Nial. He’ll be in a room on the bottom floor with Dorothy. Head back upstairs for an impromptu job offer by one of Candidate Norman’s staffers.
You’ll have to question everyone until all the clues are obtained. Only then can you talk to Scherazard and select the options to give facts to the case, otherwise your only option is “Instinct” based answers, which she will dismiss. Just don’t select the option “Give up” when talking to her.
Once you solve the job, head over to the Bracer Guild to turn in this hidden job. You’ll now be at 54[BP] with 18 jobs completed (shows in the “Memo” tab of your notebook). When you’re done, head over to the airliner station and board “Cecilia” to Zeiss.
While on the airliner, find Oliver in the front of the ship and talk to him twice to receive the third volumne of “Gambler Jack”. When you arrive in Zeiss and check in at the Bracer Guild there, collect the various jobs on the bulletin board.
Use this time to buy some better gear at the nearby weapons and armor facility, as well as three new recipes at the Forgel Bar and one located at Priam’s Drink Stand in front of the orbal factory entrance.
- Fruit Kingdom
- Fowl Magma Roast
- Tomatrio Sandwich
- Premium Herb Tea (Priam’s Drink Stand)
Stop by Professor Russell’s house to see him and Tita for some more plot narratives, then it’s off to the third floor of the central orbal factory to start the “New Model Orbal Gun Test” by talking to Karl on the third floor.
Karl will bestow it upon Oliver for testing in live battle over in the Tratt Plains Road area. Head to the plains and, as he said, enter ten battles to try out the gun (make sure you equip it!). For an extra +1[BP], do it 15 times in total before returning. Once you return, trek over to the Bracer Guild and turn in the job.
I returned to Tratt Plains Road to clean up the area regarding treasure chests (six total), fishing spots (#9 & #10) and the job for the wanted monster. I’d highly recommend bringing accessories for sleep and poison when dealing with the wanted monster group. They spam those negative effects and do massive area-of-effect damage; be very prepared.
You can find all the relevant locations for everything on the map below:
I cannot stress this enough, DO NOT GO TO WOLF FORT! If you do at this point, you will not be able to leave until you conclude your interviews and some missable content will now become unobtainable. Stick to the locations above and you’ll be fine. Once you defeat the wanted monster, fish in both places and collect the treasure chests, return to the Bracer Guild to turn in the job.
Talk to Kilika in the guild and inquire about the missing sign to start the job “The Stolen Sign”, then examine:
- The orbal clock in Zeiss.
- Main orbal factory, [5F] – examine the central terminal and select [Universal Tech] and then [Bracer Guild Sign].
- The three chimney stacks that are on the side of the Forgel Bar.
- Talk to Rudi in the tunnels for some plot progression, then Faye in the basement level of the main orbal factory to finally locate the sign.
Next, leave Zeiss out the other exit towards the Ritter Roadway. Continue until you reach Leiston Fortress to undergo the job “Training Assistance”. To be awarded full Bracer Points for it, you need to win every battle.
Before leaving the area, take a detour to the right side of the bridge (opposite the gate itself) to find the next fishing spot. It’s a little off the beaten path to the side.
Make your way back to Zeiss, but take right at the fork and go to Sanktheim Gate to start the very missable achievement “Odyssey of Anton”, which entails meeting this strange fellow a total of 12 times during the course of your adventures. This will be the first one!
At the gate, head to the mess hall and pick up:
- Macho Meat Stew
- Passion Omelet
Then up the stairs to the roof for our buddy, Anton.
Some have said the Steam achievement counter is broken, so make sure you don’t miss any since tracking it via the checklists isn’t possible for some. He has two lines of dialogue when you first meet him, so I talked to him twice just to make sure. After ten minutes later, Steam started tracking it (your mileage may very).
Once you have the two recipes and your visit with Anton, return to Zeiss and make your way to Wolf Fort. If you haven’t already, you can pick up the recipe:
- Fowl Magma Roast
You should have it already; head over and speak to Chief Warrant Officer Pace in the office. Speak to everyone at the gate, then return to CWO Pace. Plot will happen which will lead you back to the Sanktheim Gate.
Before you continue with your inquiries, speak to Anton on the roof once more, then return to the storage area to speak to Warrant Officer Talbot. During the conversation, select:
- “Both”
Finish your line of questioning, which will naturally conclude with Tammy from the mess hall, then return to the roof, but you’ll be blocked by one very collapsed Anton. See what he has to say.
Once you’ve had your fill for the dramatics, return to Kilika at the Bracer’s Guild, then check the board for new jobs. The only holdover job was the one in in the Kaldia Tunnel, “Kaldia Tunnel Monster”.
Walkthrough – Chapter 2
For now, I finished some quick jobs before venturing to Kaldia Tunnel; I started with the Leiston Fortress monster under the job “Soldat Army Road Monster”, which is parked right in front of the fortress, making it neigh impossible to miss. Once defeated, turn it in.
We’ll tackle “Parts Search” next. Head to the central orbal factory and speak to Erick behind the desk. You’ll need to search the 3rd floor workshop (3 components here) and 4th floor laboratory (4 components here) and the clinic on the fourth floor contains the final one (search Antoine the cat per Erick’s information). Collect all eight before returning to Erick.
You’ll earn a special item if you do, plus +19[BP] for the extra hard work! Turn in the job at the Bracer Guild. Afterwards, return to the orbal factory, make your way to [B1] and into the Kaldia Tunnel. On the first screen, take note of these two treasure chests when you first enter the tunnel:
Proceed past the Limestone Cave (its blocked off anyway) and you’ll end up at the bridge. You’ll see a spot to fish that you can utilize after the plot progress and laying down the first septium vein monitor. This will mark you 12th fishing spot for the achievement.
On the third screen, make note of the remaining four treasure chests in the area, as well as the wanted monster in the tunnel:
After removing the monster from the area, return to the Bracer Guild and turn in your jobs with Kilika, then make your way to Elmo Village and visit Mao at the inn’s front desk to start the “Eliminate the Pepping Tom” job. Once you’re done, head to the bar and collect the following recipes:
- Mountain Man Stew
- Flower Milkshake
- Ambrosial Egg
Successfully capture at least one fish from the pond and then head back to Zeiss. On the screen after Elmo Village, on the far west end of the field is the monster for the “Tratt Plains Monster②” job. For the exact location, see the Tratt Plains map shown above. The wanted monster icon marked with the red “②” is the location to search.
Once you’re done, return to Zeiss to turn in both completed jobs. At this point, all pending jobs on the bulletin board have been completed, putting you at 87[BP] with 27 completed jobs.
With the first septium vein monitor placed, return to Tratt Plains Road and take the unmarked road that dead ends just before Wolf Fort (same screen as Carnelia Tower’s entrance). Place the monitor there.
The final monitor can be placed just in front of Leiston Fortress. Once the furtherance of the story concludes, return to Zeiss and head to the orbal factory’s 5th floor to speak with Professor Russell. When asked a question, select the answer:
- Elmo Village
You’ll earn additional points for this answer. Before running off to Elmo Village, turn in the job at the Bracer Guild; this should put you at 95[BP] and 30 jobs completed. Next, make a detour to Carnelia Tower via the Tratt Plains Road. Head towards the direction of Wolf Fort, then north to the tower.
Carnelia Tower hides a total of 15 treasure chests. They are located:
- 1st Floor – (4)Four total. Both are right by the staircase (when you enter/when you go to the 2nd floor); you can’t miss them.
- 2nd Floor – (1)One total. Center of the circular room.
- 3rd Floor – (2)Two total. The two passages on the side of the first treasure chest in the round room each contain one (both dead ends). Then take the stairs facing the back of the chest to floor three. One contains a new food-item (Seafood Jelly) for the recipe list.
- 4th Floor – (2) Two total.
- 5th Floor – (6) Six total.
Once you have all 15 collected, make your way to Elmo Village for plot progression. Next, use the key to access the source of the Hot Springs Fountainhead. The last nine treasure chests will be located here, putting you at 115 in total.
Two are on the first screen, four on the second screen and three on the third screen. The second screen contains a new recipe:
- Rainbow Surprise
Once you’ve collected all the treasure chests, proceed to the fourth screen to see what’s going on with the hot springs and for lots of plot progression. I highly recommend saving before continuing onward.
After the scene and plot progression, you’ll end up back in Zeiss. Before boarding the airliner to Grancel, use this time to clean up anything you might be missing (if anything is) and re-supply. Review the checklist below if you’re tracking your progress by Steam or otherwise. Once done, you’ll unlock:
Complete Chapter 2.
Walkthrough – Chapter 2 Checklist
- Bracer Points — For achievement “League of Extraordinary Bracers”.
- Books/Gambling (Gambling Jack) — For achievement “Ramblin’ Gambler”.
- Books (Doll Knight) — For achievement “Blue Knight”.
- Anton Locations — For achievement “Odyssey of Anton”.
- Recipes — For achievement “Master Chef “.
- Treasure Chests — For achievement “Baby, Come Back”.
- Wanted Monsters — For achievement “Bounty Hunter”.
- Evil Penguins — For achievement “Penguin de Samba”.
- Fishing — For achievement “Master Fisher”.
NOTE #1 – The achievement “Evil Penguins” has a minor glitch still, in that killing a “Grass Hopper” enemy counts as one of the penguins. Grass Hoppers are located in chapter 2, so you probably killed a few in that time. You’ll be fine either way moving forward.
NOTE #2 – This number may be lower, as learning the recipe alone doesn’t increase the count, but making it after learning the recipe does. As long as you’ve learned the dish, you can make it whenever to up the counter.
Walkthrough – Chapter 3
First, return to the Bracer Guild and start the one available job, “Missing Guest”. You’ll learn more at the hotel, then make your way to the Kaldia Limestone Cave. There is one treasure chest just past the signage to the cave’s entrance.
Collect the lone treasure and continue onward inside the monster-infested cave. Inside there will be an additional seven treasure chests.
Some things to take into account are:
MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT
This is where you will obtain the achievement ‘“Penguin de Samba”. You have to defeat nine penguins before facing off with the boss. The achievement is very messy when it comes to counting. I had to defeat way more than nine and the achievement then unlocked before I even faced the boss.
Just save it before the boss to avoid missing it if you need to reload.
On the first screen, there is a fishing spot just before the two penguin spawns when you enter the cave. This is fishing spot #13.
Once you’re ready, face off against the boss, head to the final screen to square off. After your victory, you’ll return to the Bracer Guild, so turn in the job. This marks your 32nd job completed and a total of 108BP.
You’ll also earn the achievement:
Show those evil penguins who’s boss.
Before leaving to the next location, return to where you just were (where you saved Jimmy just now) for another fishing spot within the Kaldia Limestone Caves.
Venture over to Sanktheim Gate for another rousing chapter of Anton, World’s Most Dramatic Denizen. You can find him by the staircase leading to the uppermost floor (roof) of the gate.
When ready, board the airliner to Grancel. At the end of the plot progression, pick up the two jobs on the bulletin board for now. Next, do the typical shopping spree for new gear, recipes and supplies. Between the south block and the east block and west block you’ll find these recipes:
- Seafood Hotpot (South Block)
- Mocking Pie (South Block)
- Mobility Popcorn (South Block)
- Mystery Crepe (South Block)
- Sweeeeet Crepe (South Block)
- Ultima Ice Cream (East Block)
- Sunshine Ice (East Block)
- Moonlight Ice (East Block)
- Nap Killer (West Block)
Say “Hi” to Lloyd on the 2nd floor of the Fisherman’s Guild (optional) if you’d like. The Edel Department Store has the newest copy of the Liberl News – Issue 4. Lastly, find Anton outside the department store on the steps in the east block.
I know they mentioned a lost child earlier we had to help locate, but, we’re going to do other stuff instead, first.
Sorry, kid!
Head to the Royal Avenue outside of town through the south block, then follow the road to the Gurune Gate. Collect three more recipes:
- Shellful Dish
- Anarchy Soup
- Turnin’ Tempura
Leave Gurune Gate and head towards the Royal Villa. There are two treasure chests along the way, a fishing spot and the “Erbe Scenic Route Monster” for the job you picked up. Complete those assignments. Use the map below if you get stuck:
With all that taken care of, we can start looking for Raymond…almost!. There is another fishing spot just outside the villa, to the left of the front entrance. Cast your rod, relax, and see what you can catch.
I’m sure Raymond and his parents won’t mind us. Everyone needs a break, right? After a successful fishing break, make your way to the opposite side of the garden and try “talking” to some of the birds in the area. Speak to the one named, affectionately, as “Eggs”.
Enter the villa and you’ll talk to Raymond. Explore the villa to find the lost child. Enter the Drawing Room across the courtyard and look udner the table for some humorous, but optional dialogue, then Duke Duran in his room in the southwest corner, then enter the lounge to find the missing child.
While in the lounge, do NOT talk to Raymond except where the game makes you. If you talk to him on your own accord, you will need to restart, as not talking to him yields an additional +3[BP]. Return to the Bracer Guild with the missing child in tow.
Once new plans are in play and you are free to leave, turn in the wanted monster job and pick up the one new one, “The Missing Exhibit”. I don’t know if visiting the four locations in a particular order makes a difference, but here is the order I chose:
- Grancel Castle – Enter the castle, then to the Maid’s Quarters just on the other side of the entrance. Next, head to the library; the library is on the 2nd floor, all the way down the left side at the end of the hallway. Speak to Hilda about the letters and the Hayworths.
Next head to the top floor and speak with the Queen. When done, before leaving her chambers, head out to the balcony to fish, then once more on your way out at the draw bridge. This marks fishing spots 17 & 18 for the achievement.
After fishing, we have a chance to obtain a new type of fishing pole. Head to the north block of town and enter the house in the northwest part of town. On the second floor is a woman named Norche. She’ll donate her husband’s old fishing rod to Estelle.
Before we continue, return to Anton, who is still in front of the department store in Grancel. He’s still pouring out his soul to his friend, Ricky. Poor Ricky…
Here is where you can pick a direction. The job “The Missing Exhibit” expires after you question everyone about the threatening letters.
We still have to go to both the Calvardian & Erebonian Embassies, as well as the Liberl News to speak with Nial.
Walkthrough – Chapter 3
- Clue #1 – 2nd Floor of the house next to the cathedral. It’s General Morgan’s house; examine the clock on the 2nd floor.
- Calvardian Embassy – Speak to the guard out front to be let in. Speak to Ambassador Elsa Cochrane, head down to the middle of the staircase and enter the room on the right side to read The Doll Knight series for the “Blue Knight“. There are 22 chapters you’ll need to read. Read them all for the achievement:
Read the entire Doll Knight series.
With that done, back to the job at hand! Continue with the following:
- Erebonian Embassy – Speak to the guard out front to be let in. Speak to the ambassador, then, before leaving, speak to Nathan, the man in the library just to the side of the ambassador’s chambers. He’ll provide you with “Gambler Jack – Vol. 4. Do not leave the building until you talk to Nathan.
- Talk to our good friend, Anton, once more, now that the sun is setting.
- Clue #2 – Examine the bronze bird statue/water fountain in the south block of Grancel.
- Clue #3 – Remember The Doll Knight series achievement? Blue Knight…re-examine the books for this clue. Specifically, re-examine chapter 15.
- Clue #4 – Head to the Grand Arena in Grancel (next to both embassies) and make your way to the arena floor. Turn in the job to the Bracer Guild.
Take a stroll over the the front of the cathedral.
You’ll see a flock of birds in front of it. It’s tricky, but you need to walk up to walk up to them, quickly press the button to talk to them, and repeat it until you “speak” to the bird named “Golden Toast”.
It can take a few tries, so running in and out of the cathedral will reset the flock.
Just next to the cathedral is the entrance to Grancel’s Port. Enter it and head to the very, very end (it’s a huge area). You’ll be able to board one of the container vessels and fish of the back of it.
Head over to Liberl News afterwards and speak with Nial about the threatening letters. Return to the Bracer Guild and when discussing notes with everyone, select the option:
- “Wait a minute…”
After extensive plot, now it is time to search for Renne. During this time, don’t return to the Bracer Guild and speak to Elnan to earn +3[BP] for the time being. First though, go back to the department store and speak to Anton; he is in the same location as he has been. Now we can focus on searching for Renne. Visit the following in order:
- Department Store (east block)
- Museum (east block)
- Fisherman’s Guild (south block) – Examine the glass cases on the 1st floor.
- Baral Coffee House (west block) – Talk to Connor at the counter of the coffee shop to receive Gambler Jack – Vol. 5. Then talk to the barkeep.
- Sorbert’s Ice Cream Stand (east block)
- Grancel Landing Port (east block)
After much plot progression, head to Gurune Gate, up the stairs to your left and to the top of the wall. When prompted, select the option:
- A trap!
Once you regain control of Estelle, head to the Grancel Port, then to the second warhouse on the left side of the walkway. You’ll enter a cutscene, then proceed further into the port to locate the missing engine.
After an extensive amount of plot, you’ll re-select your group and exit the Bracer’s Guild. Head back inside and collect the two new jobs on the board. At this point, you should be at 138[BP] with 40 jobs completed.
Now that we have some down time before leaving Grancel, we’ll tackle the three wanted monsters we have left on the bulletin board. First one up is the “Royal Avenue Monster”. There’s also three treasure chests to pick up (if you haven’t already). Head back towards the villa to find them here:
Once collected, return to the Royal Avenue and make your way towards Gurune Gate until you hit the three-way junction, then head towards Erbe Royal Villa. The monster will be blocking the path.
Defeat this flying menace, then return to the Bracer Guild to turn in the completed job.
Now we’ll explore the Grancel sewers in the north, west and east sides of town. There are a total of 15 treasure chests between all three areas and they are evenly split with five in each section, as well as three more fishing spots to tackle.
The place is a huge maze of dead ends, corridors to other corridors and several entrances and exits, so refer to the map below if it helps:
Once you clear out the sewers, turn in the remaining jobs for the wanted monsters. When you’re ready, head to the Grancel Landing Port and you’ll see our good pal, Anton by the ticket kiosk. Chat him up before picking up your tickets, then proceed with the cutscenes and plot developement.
You’ll also earn the achievement for completing the chapter:
Complete Chapter 3.
Walkthrough – Chapter 3 Checklist
- Bracer Points — For achievement “League of Extraordinary Bracers”.
- Books/Gambling (Gambling Jack) — For achievement “Ramblin’ Gambler”.
- Books (Doll Knight) — For achievement “Blue Knight”.
- Anton Locations — For achievement “Odyssey of Anton”.
- Recipes — For achievement “Master Chef “.
- Treasure Chests — For achievement “Baby, Come Back”.
- Wanted Monsters — For achievement “Bounty Hunter”.
- Evil Penguins — For achievement “Penguin de Samba”.
- Fishing — For achievement “Master Fisher”.
NOTE #1 – The achievement “Master Fisher” is something that opens up at the end of the game when you can freely travel to these spots. While there have been 22 locations we’ve seen, you may not be at that amount in the achievement due to a lack of gear needed to catch certain fish.
That’s okay! So, whatever number you’re at is perfectly fine!
NOTE #2 – This number may be lower, as learning the recipe alone doesn’t increase the count, but making it after learning the recipe does. As long as you’ve learned the dish, you can make it whenever to up the counter.
Walkthrough – Chapter 4
When you first enter the stronghold, take the first left to start your treasure chest hunt. The chests are located in the following areas:
I recommend saving right when collect the 12th treasure chest. You should now be at 155 treasure chests. Once saved, head up to the landing dock to pick up the Bobcat; plot will ensue and then you’ll be on an airliner heading to Rolent on its way to Bose.
While on the airline, speak to your best friend, Anton! Once you speak to everyone on the airliner, enjoy some more plot and pick your party so you can start exploring Rolent! Stop by for supplies, some dialogue and to check out any new orbments to buy/upgrade.
Pick up some new weapons and armor next door, then pick up all the new jobs on the bulletin board if you haven’t done so already. For now, let’s tackle the job “The Ring That Flew Away” since its local. Head over to the chapel in town for more information, talk to the couple, then head into the Malga Trail. There will be a couple of treasure chests to collect; make your way to the end of the fog for plot advancement. You can find the treasure chests here:
Return to Rolent for now and stop by the Abend Bar just next to the entrance to the trail. Pick up all the new recipes:
- Three-Eyed Soup
- Spiral Noodles
- Ten-Stack Crepe
- Bone Bouillon
On the backend of the bar is a connecting house. Head inside, then to the 2nd story and speak to Serra. She’ll hand you Gambler Jack – Vol.6. Make sure to read it.
Next, talk to Anton at the Rolent Landing Port as he laments the stoppage in Rolent and his eagerness to go to Bose, then take the Elize Highway to Estelle’s house. Before heading back to Rolent, travel the Elize Highway towards Gurune Gate to check on the fog and collect the three treasure chests on the road. One before the fishing spot shown below, one just after it and one by the Mistwald Forest road sign.
On the way to the gate, you’ll come across a small bridge and another fishing spot. This will be fishing spot #23!
Continue on your way to the Gurune Gate for now; we’re going to see a man about a fish, but first, we have to exterminate the wanted monster on the Elize Highway, as it is blocking access to the gate.
You can’t miss’em; they’ll be just after the junction to Mistwald Forest. In the realm of wanted monsters, this one is on the easier side of things. Dispatch the group, then continue on to Gurune Gate. First door on the left is the mess hall and has some food for sale if you missed any recipes along the way.
- Ambrosial Egg
- Shellful Dish
- Turnin’ Tempura
- Anarchy Soup
Talk to Percy, who is also in the mess hall for the job “Fishing Spot Search”. Head back towards Estelle’s home and Rolent and return to the fishing spot shown above by the bridge on Elize Highway, then behind the Bright Family Home on the side for the next fishing spot. Two down for the job!
Return to Rolent, turn in the “Elize Highway Monster” job and then make your way to the Milch Main Road. There’s going to be a few more fishing spots to catalog, a wanted monster to slay and seven treasure chests to claim. Refer to the map for their locations:
Make your way to the Verte Bridge, then circle around back to find the 25th fishing spot thus far. Catch a fish for the “Fishing Spot Search” for now:
Walkthrough – Chapter 4
It may take a few tries, as they fly away quickly, but you can simply go down the ladder to reset them. The one circled is the one you want to try and talk to before they fly away.
Once you do, though, you’ll have completed the trifecta of breakfast birds and unlocked your achievement, “Breakfast Safari”.
Next, return to the Bracer Guild and examine the bulletin board, picking up your new job, “Search for Lost Cat”.
After picking up the job, head over to the Abend Bar and talk to Anton once more. He’s still dreaming of love, Aidois and a blonde “goddess”. Typical Anton…
Find “Bacon,” “Eggs,” and “Golden Toast.”
Skip over to Hotel Rolent and speak to Ida in the first floor hotel room to start your job hunting down a feisty feline runaway. Accept the job and head to the landing port to talk to the two workers that saw said cat.
The first is on the docking port, then the next is between the two warehouses in the back. Quint, the third to question, went into town and can be found at the orbal shop (not the bar). Zosimov is basically hiding; when you first enter the landing port, he is under the first tree on the left. I must have walked past him a dozen times…
Next, talk to Fabree to gain access to the airship. Once the job has been concluded, return to the Bracer Guild to turn in the job and any other completed ones you might still have.
At this point, you should be at:
- Bracer Points – 164
- Treasure Chests – 169
Continue with the main crisis at hand now and talk to all the victims of the recent events to learn what you can. Return to the guild and make sure to select the following options when prompted:
- “No witnesses”
- “Luke collapsed”
When morning hits, go to the Bracer Guild for an update on the night’s patrol team. Afterwards, make your way to Esmelas Tower, which can be accessed through the Malga Trail from Rolent. There will be nine treasure chests to collect here.
- Outside the tower – 1 (unless you already picked this up earlier)
- 1st Floor – 0
- 2nd Floor – 3
- 3rd Floor – 1 (Contains “Mighty Juice” recipe)
- 4th Floor – 1
- 5th Floor – 3
- 6th Floor (Roof) – 0
One you’re on the roof, notice the crow to your left; you’ve located the thief and the lost ring that the couple in the church were missing.
Collect it and return to Rolent’s church to deliver the good news, then turn in the job at the Bracer Guild.
Exit and you’ll see Anton and company next to the side of the guild. Give him a chat and see what he’s up to this time. I’m sure he totally isn’t lamenting some long lost love…no, never…
Head over to the Rolent chapel and walk around to the backside and examine the grate to enter the Rolent Sewers. Inside you will find two treasure chests, a familiar healing orbal checkpoint from the first game and a spot to fish for the “Fishing Spot Search” job. Cast your line!
Once you collect both treasure chests and catch something in the sewers to catalog it for the job, you head return to Rolent.
There will be one more fishing spot left at this point to complete the job, but we can’t access it until the very end of the chapter, so for now, you should be at 179 treasure chests and 168 Bracer Points in total.
Now head towards Perzel Farm for more plot progression, then return to the Bracer Guild for more plot intrigue, collect the two new jobs from the job board and then then make your way to Mistwald Forest. Inside is the familiar misty, winding woods that loves to get us lost. Use the map below and collect the treasure chests shown below. Don’t worry about the fishing spot for now. We’ll return after the necessary plot progression to mark it for the job we currently have.
Once you hear the bell, you need to navigate the woods in under 20 map changes to earn +3[BP] when you inevitably turn in the job at the Bracer Guild. I highly recommend saving it before even moving from the spot you start on. Using your compass, go:
- North two screens.
- East two screens.
- (Cutscene)
- East one screen after the cutscene.
- East one screen (Collect treasure chest “Range 1” orbment).
- North two screens.
- East one screen.
A cutscene will unfold and a very tricky boss fight will entail, so be prepared! After your success in battle, you’ll be bombarded with a ton of backstory, lore, plot and eventually end up back at the Bracer Guild, ending chapter four. and the start of chapter five. You’ll have a lot of loose ends still needing the finishing touch, so let’s take stock of everything in our checklist and establish where we are if you’ve been following along.
Achievement unlocked!
Complete Chapter 4.
Walkthrough – Chapter 4 Checklist
While there have been 26 locations we’ve seen, you won’t be finished with it due to a lack of gear needed to catch certain fish. Ultimately, whatever you have at this point is fine.
That’s okay! So, whatever number you’re at is perfectly fine!
NOTE #2 – This number may be lower, as learning the recipe alone doesn’t increase the count, but making it after learning the recipe does. As long as you’ve learned the dish, you can make it whenever to up the counter.
Walkthrough – Chapter 5
Your job board should look like the following:
First things first, take a stroll to the top of the clock tower once again; the same place where you found the bird, Bacon. Talk to Anton once more. Anton will ask you to collect some ingredients for some medicine he is making.
His explanation is, well, unique to say the least. For most of the ingredients, you can find them fairly easy, but in case you need to pick some up, they are as follows:
- Monster Carapace from Coral Shell monsters in the Esmeldas Tower.
- Savory Pinion from Killer Hornets and Red Insectos in the Mistwald Forest.
- Prickly Seed from Mantrap in Milch Road.
- Pearlglass can be obtained via fishing in the Milch Road pool, Elize Highway River by the bridge or the Mistwald clear stream. Just use any of your earthworms, dumplings or river snails as bait as necessary.
Once you’ve gathered everything, return to Anton to continue the next part of the job. After the events unfold and the fun dies down, you’ll be returned to the guild and complete the achievement:
Follow Anton across Liberl and complete his story.
Next up, let’s tackle the job “Mine Commission”; head to Chief Gaton’s house in Rolent. It is on the opposite side of the entrance to Melder’s Orbal Factory. Speak to the chief about the missing letter, then head to the second floor balcony of the church and exam the red chair, then the crates to the right side of the mayor’s house, the forge behind the weapon’s shop and, lastly, enter the Rolent sewers using the grate by the forge itself.
Inside, at the back of the sewer is a rusted door that is locked. Unlock it using the rusted key you found, open the door to this newly discovered back room. Beware, though, you’ll be in for a fight so be prepared. Protection from blind and strong fire/earth arts are recommended.
Search the bookcase nearby after the hard-won fight to obtain the “Ore Mine Commission Letter”. Return it to Chief Gaton for a reward.
For a much easier target, head over to Esmelas Tower next to tackle the job “Esmelas Tower Monster” It can be found at the base of the tower; you can’t miss it.
It’ll be much easier than the monsters you fought for the ore mine letter, so once you’ve desposed of it, return to the Bracer Guild to turn in the jobs you’ve completed.
Now on to Mistwald! If you remember, there was a fishing spot that we weren’t able to get to (see above map) due to boss fights and plot progression. Make your way to where you fought the boss to find a fishing spot on the bridge beside it. This should mark your sixth and final fishing spot for the job “Fishing Spot Search”, as well as spot #27!
In case you somehow overlooked a spot, you can check your journal and cross-reference what you’re missing. If you found all six, it should read:
Return to Percy at the Gurune Gate when you’ve found all six to turn in your report and acquire a very special fishing rod for all your hard work and running around. Return to Rolent to turn in the job.
Make your way to the Milch Main Road and head to the second screen where the path branching out to either the Verte Bridge – Checkpoint or the Perzel Farm.
Along the road, just to the side, you should see a familiar enemy that you’ve encountered inside Mistwald Forest.
The Death Spectacular enemies love to cast “Will-o-Wisp”, which, if it hits, will almost always confuse your party member, so make sure to take preventative measures and bring accessories that block confusion.
As always, once you defeat this wanted monster, return to the Bracer Guild to collect your reward; you should now have just a singular job remaining: “Nostalgic Recipe”. Head over to the bar and talk to Chef Densel in the kitchen.
He’ll ask you to find a recipe called “Rolent-Style Hodgepodge Stew” (some name…). After talking to Densel, speak to Radford at the bar for more information on this mysterious stew.
Exit the bar and enter the general store to speak with Bloom (2nd floor), then return to the home attached to the Abend Bar and speak to Rhett about the stew. Collect the ingredients you get from the book and return everything to Densel to cook.
If you haven’t been burning through your ingredients cooking, you probably already have everything needed; if not, most everything can be found from the general store. The only thing you can’t buy are “Juicy Bones”, but you can find them in the Rolent sewer as a drop from defeating the “Dirty Rats” down there.
At the end of the job, you’ll earn a new recipe:
- Pepper Pottage
Report your job completion to the guild to earn the achievement:
Complete the “Nostalgic Recipe” quest.
At this point in the game, you should have 57 jobs completed, a total of 212 Bracer Points and 187 treasure chests opened and accounted for. At this point, you are clear to board the airliner “Cecilia” to Bose. On arrival, collect all the jobs from the bulletin board after picking your team, then let’s knock out some of the easy stuff first.
Recipes! As always, visit the local eateries for some new grub. Katrina’s Confectionery in the main shopping district will have two new items to learn:
- Refresh Jelly
- Corner Castella
Kirsche’s Bar will contain some more recipes:
- Golden Risotto
- Flame Tongue Stew
Before running off to complete jobs and slay vicious monsters, stock up new weapons, armor and improve your orbments if possible. For now, I shelved the wanted monsters and started the other three jobs: “The Missing Lady”, “The Rarest Flavor”, & “Imperial Request”.
Head over to the Anterose Restaurant and speak to Reina to the left of the entrance, then to Gwen in the kitchen in the back of the restaurant.
DO NOT GIVE HER ALL THE INGREDIENTS YET!
Speak to Orvid; he’ll be outside the Bose marketplace (south entrance). He’s in a bind that you two can come to an agreement on and save all that walking around you would have had to do. What luck!
Walkthrough – Chapter 5
- Tender Poultry – Hresvelgrs & Rimera drop these along the road to Haken.
- Bird Eggs – Rock Peckers drop these along the East Bose Highway.
- Gummy Eyeballs – Dust Geist drop these just outside Bose along the New Ansel Path, or Boiled Egger G on the Krone Pass.
Once you’ve gathered the remaining items, return to Gwen to complete it. Return to the Bracer Guild for your reward and bonus points for introducing them to Orvid.
Head over to the West Bose Highway for three treasure chests. The highway consists of three separate screens and there is one treasure chest in each. They’re fairly easy to spot, so you shouldn’t have much trouble.
The first is about halfway through screen one, the second is to your left just as you’re entering screen two and the third is after the Krone Pass junction; take the Krone Pass road along the sign and it will be on your right on a small mound.
Make your way to Krone Pass now. there are an additional five treasure chests in this winding path. Luckily, it is narrow, and all five are in plain sight. About midway through, you’ll encounter your first wanted monster, a pair of Blade Fangs.
These creepy dinosaur-lookin’ things hit hard and can easily do over 2,000HP in damage when they boost their strength. However, they like to waste their turns growling, so they aren’t very difficult if you keep your party healed up.
Once defeated, continue further along the pass.
Enter the checkpoint and take the 1st door on your right and speak to Mikey for “Gambler Jack – Vol. 7, then the 2nd door on the right to find Felicity. During the conversation, select the option:
- “You really are a coward, Felicity.” +2[BP]
Return to Bose and turn in the job when you’re able to, then head to the hotel and speak with Ambassador Crainagh about his missing medal. It’s our favorite prankster at it again! Follow the clues:
- Behind the orbal factory (flower pot by the stairs).
- the 3rd floor of the Bracer Guild (open book).
- The forklift in the airliner port.
- The small side room inside of the chapel (1st door on the left, 2nd floor).
After returning the medal and collecting your reward for a job well done, it’s time to clean up some more treasure chests. First, embark towards New Ansel Path from South Bose. There’s going to be four treasure chests to collect. They are located here:
Before I entered the Amberl Tower, I doubled back to Bose and took the East Bose Highway towards Nebel Valley to collect more out-of-the-way treasure chests. Nebel Valley has three treasure chests to collect.
Like the Mistwald Forest, there is no map here. When you first enter, though, there will be a fork with two directions in the very beginning.
Take the left pathway and you’ll find one treasure chest at the very end of the road, as well as the wanted monster, “Ghost Epitaph” (They love to freeze your party, so some anti-freezing accessories is always helpful.). An additional treasure chest in under the bridge via the tunnels.
Return to the entrance and take the other direction to find a familiar cabin to rest and one additional treasure chest in the area. Once you have all three and dispatched the wanted monster, return to Bose, then head to Amberl Tower.
Here we need to collect 25 treasure chests (so many!) and the last of the three wanted monsters at the top. The first two chests (as shown above), are outside of the tower by the staircase. The others are located here:
On the roof, you’ll find your third and final wanted monster. After defeating them, select the option:
- “The monsters were afraid.” +2[BP]
Foreboding stuff! Return to the Bracer Guild to turn in your wanted monsters job and for some plot progression. When prompted, select:
- “Organize first” +3[BP]
Select your party, then head over to Ravennue Village. There is one treasure chest when you enter the trail that is pretty easy to spot. The sparp turn in the road will have it sitting in plain sight. Pick that up; this is the only treasure chest for a bit.
Once you reach the Abandoned Mine Trail portion, there are seven treasure chests to collect:
When you enter the abandoned mines, there will be no map to guide you. Take the first right and it will go in one big loop; there is the first of six treasure chests here. Go back to the entrance and go left this time.
Follow the wall to the wooden bridge, go up and examine the rocks, then head back and cross the wooden bridge. Just after the bridge is a four-way junction (south being back the way you came). Take the left for treasure chest number two.
The path at the junction is a dead end (right side), so head upward and go left when you can to find a small nook with two more treasure chests. Two more to go!
Keep moving as north as you can after collecting those two chests and the path will wrap around to the right and contain treasure chest number five. It is the right just above the section that contains an open tunnel leading to the mine’s pit area. Now, that sixth and final chest? You can’t even get it! Bummer, right? No worries, though. We’ll have a chance to pick it up later on.
After all the plot, return to The Moonlight Path inn and pick up a new recipe:
- Paradise Cooler
Talk to Tita, then return to Bose. Stalk up on supplies from the vendors from the hotel. Once you’re ready to go, head to the airship for further. After your adventure in the air, you’ll be returned to Bose. Before departing a second time to Nebel Valley, collect the new job inside the Bracer Guild.
You can find this wanted monster along the Ravennue Trail in a secluded corner of the map (see above map for location). Defeat it and return to the Bracer Guild to turn in the job.
Now you are ready to head to Nebel Valley. Make your way there and, when you arrive, take the east path to that familiar hut from the first game. Heck, you might have already visited it once before during this playthrough.
Speak to Mr. Welmer and make your way to the dragon’s lair. Inside will be 11 treasure chests to collect.
- Cave 1 – When you first enter, make your way to the first fork in the road that opens up into a giant area. Go north and collect the first two treasure chests. Take the other path to exit the cave.
- Cave 2 – Follow the path outside cave 1 and you’ll see the entrance to this one right before you go up in elevation. Enter there and collect the two treasure chests inside.
- Cave 3 – Climb to the top of the path and you’ll be forced to enter cave three. There are three treasure chests inside. Once you reach the exit, there will be a brief cutscene.
- Cave 4 – There is one treasure chest inside.
- Cave 5 – After exiting this cave, save it. There will be two at the top of the passage and one contains plot progression, the smaller cave (2nd one) contains three treasure chests. GO INTO THE SMALLER CAVE FIRST!

Walkthrough – Chapter 5 Checklist
Walkthrough – Chapter 6
- Dark Stew
Catch up with Whelmer, then return towards Bose, but before you go there, make a quick side trek to Haken Gate and speak to Carlos, one of the plan clothes men just outside the gate. He’ll give you Gambler Jack – Vol. 9.
If you panicked like I did, you might be missing the 8th volume, but do not worry! You can get these two out of order, as I did. We’ll be getting the next volume shortly. After obtaining the book, there isn’t much else to do but collect one more recipe at the little rest stop in front of the gate:
- Fevered Gaze
Have a taste and learn the recipe and head on back to Bose for now. Next, we’ll tackle the “Merchant Escort” job. Head to the South Block to speak with the client.
She can be found in a house up the staircase as shown on the map here. Speak to her, gather whatever you may need in preparation and meet her by the west gate. Before venturing off, I’d recommend saving.
You’ll earn an extra +2[BP] for bringing her to Ravennue Village without entering any fights. If you need to, equip the orbment “Heaven’s Eye” to spot monsters on the mini map to help avoid any unnecessary confrontations.
Before leaving Ravennue Village, talk to Lewey (one of the kids playing outside) to obtain the aforementioned Gambler Jack – Vol. 8 I mentioned earlier. Now we’re all caught up! One more thing; head over to the docks by the former orchard to make note of the fishing spot here:
Return to Bose to turn in your completed job, then head over to Kische’s Bar and speak to Corna to start the other job, “Memories of Distant Days”. Head over to the Mayor’s house with the photo in hand and talk to Lila and then Maybelle. Both are on the 2nd floor.
After the job is done, turn it in and make your way back to the abandoned mines past Ravennue Village for a hidden side job and a chance to collect that one remaining treasure chest in the pit we couldn’t get beforehand. Last time we were here, it was locked up and guarded, but now there’s trouble a’foot and we’re here to help.
Speak to the two guards just outside the gate.
There are three groups to dispatch inside the mine, then head to the pit area where you meet up with Agate and the dragon. Go directly south and enter the entrance there to find a dead in containing the last treasure chest we couldn’t get prior.
There are two other branching paths that contain a group of machine monsters each, resulting in five total before you get the all clear. Once you do, return to the entrance to report your victory.
You should have every loose end tied up now, but if you don’t make sure you do before going to the lake.
You should be at 71 completed jobs, earning 272 Bracer Points and have located 251 treasure chests at this point.
We’re done with everything in Bose, so head to the South Block through the New Ansel Path to the Kingfisher Inn for some relaxation and fishing!
Enter the inn, but choose the option that you have other things to do before the party. Head over to the cook and pick up two more recipes:
- Roast Fish
- Rampage Fish
Return to the group and select the option to relax. After the festivities and much plot progression, select your party and head across the Valleria Lake to the Lakeside Labratory. There are 19 treasure chests to collect in here.
On the first floor, you’ll find a total of six, so don’t traverse to the second floor until you have four of them. The fifth one is locked behind a door needing a green card and the sixth is locked behind a door that needs a blue key card.
Take the four for now and head up to the 2nd floor with the red key card. There will be seven treasure chests on floor two, but, as with floor one, you’ll need both the green key card (found on the second floor) and the blue key card (found on the third floor) to access them all.
DO NOT GO TO FLOOR 4 – Collect all the chests once you have all three cards before going to the roof. Don’t forget the one treasure chest on the third floor that is on the outside balcony. You’ll get a new recipe from it:
- Naptime Cookie
With all in head, head to the fourth floor.
Once you’re aboard the Glorious, there will be more treasure chests to collect. the first section (Forecastle) has seven treasure chests. Proceed down the hallway to find a chest in the third room on the side containing the recipe:
- Knockout Meatball
The next room over contains chest number two. Proceed up the elevator for plot progression (you can go anywhere else anyway). After you regain control, exit your room and go north up the hallway and take the south exit of this large room; the second door in this new hallway contains the third chest.
Go back the way you came and take the elevator up to the next floor. Head to the next room and take the east door and up the staircase. Take the second door and go inside for three more treasure chests. Leave the room and backtrack, taking the first door you just skipped.
Go across the walkway, then follow it as it snakes around and down the staircase. Before going down the big hallway, go west to the door immediately to the side and get the seventh chest as shown below:
SAVE IT!
After making it to the top of the ship, you’ll encounter a group of enemies and be given three dialogue option. Pick any of them (it doesn’t affect Bracer Points earned). This fight can be a pain-in-the-butt if you don’t have a plan.
It’s five on one and you can’t out-speed their attacks, so I equipped every defense-based item I had, then made a few “Surprise Cookies” that do 100% sleep prior to the fight. The cookies themselves do absurd damage, but also knocking them out to slumberville turns the tide of the fight instantly in your favor. Dispatch the foes quickly to earn yourself another +5[BP]. There is an achievement earned in the future that is tied to this one, so you must win the fight.
After the fight, head down the stairs towards your escape ship. There will be four treasure chests in the hangar to collect. Head below deck, then through the west doorway and up the staircase. Head down the hallway until you have two doors to pick (go west). Go all the way to the end of this hallway until you’re blocked off: enter the room on the east for treasure chest one.
Return to the hallway at the beginning and take the east side this time. Go all the way down until you hit the end, go north and take the first west door. Collect the second treasure chest here. Exit and take the northern door west.
Walkthrough – Chapter 6
Go south to the next room, take the staircase west. Take the first door on the west and follow it until it ends, then take the closet door to the east for the next treasure chest. You’ll be blocked from going further, so return to the previous hallway and go south, taking the first east door and following it to the end, then go south, then east at the very next door.
Go north and take the first door to the west to find the fourth and final treasure chest. Finally!
Exit the room, go all the way south, enter the door at the end and down the staircase. Go south and take the elevator down to the next floor. After a ton of dialogue and a long, long cutscene, this will conclude chapter six!

Walkthrough – Chapter 7
All treasure chests in this chapter are missable. You cannot return to the multidimensional realm to retrieve any missed treasure chests. Save often!
Once you descend the airship, you’ll be brought right in front of the Esmelas Tower, but things will be a little, well, different than your last visit. Inside the tower will be 23 new treasure chests to collect. The tower isn’t very difficult to navigate, despite being pretty expansive.
Once you’ve collected all 23 chests, rest up at the orbment before the teleporter that will take you to the roof. Save it, then enter for some obligatory cutscene and fighting action! After the fight, you’ll make your way to the Carnelia Tower next.
It’ll be the same as before; This time the tower will be a bit more jam packed with loot: 35 treasure chests! Before leaving the airship, stock up on any necessary supplies and fiddle with your upgraded orbment slots before descending to the tower once more.
Enter the tower and start exploring. Just like the first one, you’ll need to collect four data orbments, which can all be found on the third floor of the tower.
Head to the roof for more plot and another encounter before returning to the airship to regroup, resupply and then fly off towards the third tower: Sapphirl Tower. Before leaving the ship, put Kloe in your party for now and head out to the rear of the Arseille and talk to Antoine, the cat for Gambler Jack – Vol. 10. Weird that a cat has it….?
When you’re ready, descent the lift once more and enter the tower. Inside are just 23 treasure chests to collect this time. The Sapphirl Tower is linear, so finding all the treasure chests is extremely easy. Just keep moving forward and you’ll find them all without issue.
Rest at the familiar orbment and save, then enter the teleporter for another fight and some more cutscene. Return to the Arseille, select your party, stock up once more and descend for the final time to conquer the Amberl Tower. The fourth and final one!
There are another whopping 30 treasure chests to hunt down in this tower before facing off with the next Enforcer at the roof.
After completing the final tower, enjoy the progress and cutscenes, as that will conclude chapter seven!

Walkthrough – Chapter 8
- Krone Pass Monster
- New Ansel Path Monster
We’ll tackle these two small jobs first; you can complete them in any order. I chose the New Ansel Path monster first; you’ll find them hanging around the crossroads of the path, Amberl Tower and Valleria Lake.
These machines hit extremely hard and can easily two-shot level 75+ party members, so I recommend going in with S-Arts at the ready and a couple of “refresh Jelly” (+5400HP + K.O.) treats just in case.
Just kill them quickly.
Once you come out victorious, return to the guild and turn in the job. You should now have unlocked the achievement for slaying wanted monsters! But, wait, there’s more! That’s right, defeating 30 will unlock the achievement, but we’ll still encounter a few more before the day is done. For now, you should have 295[BP] and have unlocked:
Exterminate all wanted monsters.
Next, head down the West Bose Highway to the Krone Pass; in the beginning of the trail, you’ll come across the wanted monsters blocking your path.
Defeat the pack of Red Fangs; using Joshua’s “Hell Scream” to one-hit the cannon fodder Eggers while you pelt the Red Fangs with water arts should take them down easily. Before returning to Bose, go to the Krone checkpoint to see a familiar face: Ray & Antoine! Talk to Ray to obtain a new recipe:
- Aurora Ball
Make sure to cook one up for the recipe list! Once completed, return to Bose and turn in the job. You should now be at 300[BP] even. Almost there!
Unlike the other game, we now have access to all the towns and areas and can move freely among them. This gives us the opportunity to do some fishing and wrap up this achievement.
To make it a bit more manageable, we’ll address it one area at a time. Go to your book inventory and examine the fishing book. This will show you what you have caught and how many are missing. Next, cross reference it with the tables below to find out where you need to go to locate them.
There are seven different fishing rods available in game. You can obtain them by the following:
Fishing Rods
- Progress Rod – (Main Story).
- Marine Star – 200 medal prize at the Lavantar Casino & Bar in Ruan.
- Piscis Heart – Tratt Plains Road in the Zeiss Region (Treasure Chest)
- Bamboo Fishing Rod – Speak to Norche in the North Block of Grancel.
- Metal Rod Trident – Complete the job “Fishing Spot Search” through chapters four & five.
- Lakelord II – Conclude chapter five and return to the Lakeshore Inn and speak with Kuwano, then to Cecile at her home in Bose.
- Aqua Master – Bracer Rank C reward.
Couple of notes about fishing. You do not need to catch the Dynatrad to complete the achievement. You earn something special for doing so, but it isn’t necessary.
Also, you can earn this achievement without ever picking up the Lakelord II fishing rod.

Walkthrough – Chapter 8
Conquer the aquatic denizens of Liberl.
Now that we’ve completed the fishing achievement and everything in Bose for the time being, make your way to Ruan if you haven’t done so already and go to the Bracer Guild for some jobs that need completing.
If you’ve gone to Ruan, you probably already ran into the Dancing Clown wanted monster ahead of time. The second wanted monster is located in front of the Sapphirl Tower, blocking the entrance to it entirely.
Dispose of both of them and turn in the two jobs at the Ruan branch. This will put you at 79 jobs completed for a total of 310[BP].
Now it’s time for a secret job; start by heading to the Jenis Royal Academy. During the job, you’ll be given a new recipe:
- Mighty Essence
During the boss battle, you must win the fight (for a future achievement)!
After the events at the academy are done and before leaving to continue your journey, head into the school house and into the “Humanities” classroom on the first floor and speak to the girl inside to obtain Gambler Jack – Vol.12.
You might have noticed you’re missing volume 11, but, no, don’t worry. We are still able and will obtain it soon. Return to Ruan and turn in the job from the Jenis Royal Academy; you should be at 81 jobs completed with 318[BP].
Make your way to Zeiss next and enter their respective Bracer Guild to update the phone there as well. If you don’t have her in your group, swap a party member for Tita for a secret job.
Pick up the two new jobs on Zeiss’ bulletin board and then make your way through the Tratt Plains Road to the Maple Leaf Inn by the hot springs and speak to Mao. She’ll explain that the hot springs are down, but the restaurant is still open, then speak to her once more to reveal a hidden job for you to complete.
Mrs. Mao will ask for help. Select:
- Offer to help anyway
Go to the pump shed with the key and let Tita examine everything, then return to Zeiss, go to the Orbal Factory and speak to Rudi [B1] in the facility. Chief Murdock will come down and provide you with a letter to pick up the gasoline.
Next, head over to the Zeiss landing port and speak to Maintenance Chief Gustav about a combustion engine.
Equip your night vision goggles once more and return to the tunnels to Ruan and speak to Harg at the docks. He’ll have some gasoline for you in the port. Return to Zeiss and make your way to Leiston Fortress.
For now, swap Tita back out of your party; with the orbal shutdown phenomenon going on, her cannon is useless, making her unable to use it. Keeping her unnecessarily is a detriment, and right outside the Ritter Roadway on the path to the fortress is one of the wanted monster jobs.
Defeat the wanted monster, then continue on towards Leiston Fortress for that engine. At the gate, speak to the guard about the combustion engine. You’ll then learn the engine isn’t here because why not….
Head back to Zeiss and take the Tratt Plans Road exit. Take the part of the road that goes to the Wolf Fort. You’ll find the ship has landed just outside Carnelia Tower by the pond on the roadside. Talk to the soldiers to collect the engine. Finally!
Before heading to Zeiss to pick up Tita once more, continue on one more screen towards Wolf Fort. You should easily see a giant worm hanging out on the side of the road.
That’s the second wanted monster you need to dispose of for the guild. Don’t attack them with area of effect spells. Every time they take damage, they cast a devastating spell called “Earth Shaker” that hits everyone for several thousand hit points. Focus one at a time.
The fight is long this way, but attacking them all at once is essentially suicide. Once you defeat them, return to Zeiss to turn in both jobs and collect Tita before returning to Elmo Village to deliver the supplies to the pump shed.
For your hard work you’ll get a new recipe:
- Nirvana Tea
Return to Zeiss and turn in this job, marking your total jobs completed to 84 and accumulating 336[BP]. Lastly, go to Wolf Fort and take the left door of the outpost; speak to CWO Pace inside for Gambler Jack – Vol.13. We’ve now completed everything in the area, so it is off to Grancel from here!
Check in at the Bracer Guild as normal and accept the two jobs on the bulletin board asking the guild to kill two more wanted monsters. Noticing a theme on each of these boards by now, aren’t you?
One monster is located underground in the sewers (take the east entrance) and the other is along the Erbe Scenic Route; make your way to the Royal Villa and this monster will be right outside the entrance, blocking anyone from entering.
Defeat the pair of monsters and return to the Bracer Guild to turn in the jobs. That is it for this area; there are no hidden jobs in Grancel.
We can now move on to Rolent. On your way, you’ll be forced to deal with a wanted monster (machine, really) blocking your path. Dispose of it on your way to Rolent.
Once in Rolent, stock up on supplies if needed and, if you need to upgrade your orbments, talk to Freddy in town and you can use the Zero Field Generator (ZFG) to temporarily power his shop to upgrade them. Once done, go to the Bracer Guild to turn in the ZFG and your pending jobs.
Grab the one extra job from the bulletin board and turn in all your pending jobs from Grancel and the one you did on your way to Rolent. You should now be at 88 jobs completed and 359[BP]. When you try to leave the building, the phone will ring and you’ll be told to go to the Grancel Castle.
DO NOT GO THERE UNTIL YOU’VE COMPLETED EVERYTHING!
For now, don’t worry about meeting with the queen. For now, head to the Milch Main Road to exterminate the wanted monster. You can find it on the screen that has the three-way junction (same map as the downed military airship). Check the northeastern corner.
When done, turn in the job and go to the Abend Bar for another new recipe that Elissa has made:
- Heavenly Tempura
After learning the dish, head over to the chapel, where a couple is to be married and speak to Serra in the room to the left of the priest. Serra says we’re early, so we’ll come back later.
We’ll tackle the hidden job at the Malga Mine; head there and enter the mines, making your way to the elevator to speak with Miner Landan. There will be five people to save in the mines before facing off against the monster nest.
There are no treasure chests in the mine. Once you save all the miners and defeat the main threat in the mines, you’ll automatically return to Rolent. Speak to Aina at the guild headquarters to be paid out for your troubles. This should put you at 90 jobs completed and 372[BP].
With all the work done for now, re-visit the chapel. Just in time for the ceremony!
After the ceremony, return to the Abend Bar and speak with Serra once more to obtain another issue of Gambler Jack: Gambler Jack – Vol.11. That concludes everything in Rolent, so make your way to Bose.
Walkthrough – Chapter 8
Read up on famous gamblers and win big at the casino.
There’s a few new dishes to buy and learn in the market as well:
- Mystery Paste Plus (Katrina’s Confectionary)
- Worldly Stew (Buck’s Greengrocery)
- Rustic Bone (Trayton’s Foods)
Before going back to Grancel and heading to the castle, you should go through a checklist to make sure you’ve completed everything you can:
- Treasure Chests – You should be at 393 treasure chests acquired.
- Gambler Jack – You should be completed and have the achievement unlocked.
- Bracer Points – You should be at 372 points with 90 jobs completed.
- Fishing – You should have this completed and the achievement unlocked.
- Recipes – You should be at 66/68 completed, though as long as you still have the recipes learned and ingredients to make said items, that’s fine. I’d recommend to make everything you can ahead of time though.
There are two more recipes to get in the final chapter:
- Bitter Omelette
- Resurrect Jelly
Once you have everything listed above, head to Grancel to see what al the commotion is about. You’ll be prompted by some lengthy cinematic events before being able to enter the city.
ENTERING GRANCEL, BUT BEFORE ENTERING THE CASTLE!
Go to the Bracer Guild where everyone is sheltering and go to the third floor and speak to Baral to trade all 14 chapters of the Gambler Jack for some mysterious ore. We’ll circle back to this later on in the last chapter.
For now, if you have everything above, head to Grancel Castle for plot progression.
After the events at the castle subside, you’ll be given your last ten Bracer Points and unlock the achievement:
League of Extraordinary Bracers
After the finale is over, you’ll conclude chapter eight there. The final act is upon us now and, with that, the last chapter begins. Before that, though, you have now unlocked:
Complete Chapter 8.
Walkthrough – Chapter 8 Checklist
- Bracer Points — For achievement “League of Extraordinary Bracers”.
- Books/Gambling (Gambling Jack) — For achievement “Ramblin’ Gambler”.
- Books (Doll Knight) — For achievement “Blue Knight”.
- Anton Locations — For achievement “Odyssey of Anton”.
- Recipes — For achievement “Master Chef “.
- Treasure Chests — For achievement “Baby, Come Back”.
- Wanted Monsters — For achievement “Bounty Hunter”.
- Evil Penguins — For achievement “Penguin de Samba”.
- Fishing — For achievement “Master Fisher”.
NOTE #2 – This number may be lower, as learning the recipe alone doesn’t increase the count, but making it after learning the recipe does. As long as you’ve learned the dish, you can make it whenever to up the counter. Before entering the Grancel Castle after reporting the orbment phones in every Bracer Guild branch, I recommend cooking every recipe until you’re at 66/68, though it isn’t absolutely necessary if you have the ingredients to do it later on.
Walkthrough – Final Chapter
Gear up, then head outside and climb up out of the ditch the Arseille is in by climbing on the broken parts. Head south past your secondary party that is outside to enter the park area. Use the elevator to ascend to an access panel you can use to unlock the gated door in the park. Return to that door.
This floating island contains the remainder of the treasure chests you’ll need to collect for the achievement.
Inside you’ll find yourself in the Liber Ark Tunnels (1). Inside these tunnels are nine treasure chests you’ll need to collect. Once you’ve made you way through the tunnels, you’ll come out on the other side into the residential block.
The residential block contains an additional 10 treasure chests to collect. There is also the chance to learn a new recipe in the first residential housing unit you pass by. Examine the terminal to learn it, then read the “Data Crystal” on that same terminal.
There are three chests inside the bar that contain 10 of almost every ingredient you earn as drops from monsters. There is also another terminal, which is going to need that ore you traded those books for in Grancel. It will recognize the ore and produce a “Data Crystal Z” that you’ll need to take back to Professor Russell for examination.
This is a great place to save it, then make what you need for the cooking achievement. Reload your save and it will count towards the total while maintaining all your ingredients on the off chance you forgot which ones you had yet to cook (gathering resources on the floating isle is a pain). Resurrect Jelly should have been the last recipe you needed, so make it and any other pending recipes you still needed to cook. When you do, you’ll finally unlock:
Cook your way through the Recipe Book.
The residential block consists of two screens of housing. Upon entering the second screen, you’ll see a familiar face that needs help and have access to a healing orbment inside the crashed airship.
Make your way to the municipal office (large building with a waiting room) and select “Request Gospel Reprint”. Pick any random names and you’ll get an error, so ignore the terminal for the time being.
When you have all chests plundered, access the terminal in the southwestern corner of the map to bring up the railway tram and take it back to the Arseille and speak to Professor Russell about what you’ve learned. He’ll examine it and determine the Data Crystal Z contains schematics for advanced weaponry.
Select whatever weapon you want to make for now since you only have one chunk of ore on hand. Talk to the professor again to ask about the gospel imprinter you found, then switch out any party member for Kloe and return to the municipal building.
Select the name “Celeste D. Auslese” to have it print a temporary gospel for you to use, then return to the door lock terminal and use the gospel on it. You’ll finally unlock that pesky door, giving you access to a new area, “Liber Ark Tunnels 2”.
This new area has eight treasure chests to collect. When you come out on the other side, you’ll be in the industrial zone of the city.
Despite its huge size, the industrial block only contains three more treasure chests to collect. Some are kind of hidden, so when you come to the first four-way intersection, go left and the first treasure chest is hidden behind the cargo (rotate the camera to see it). The other two chests are located on the circular platforms (one in the middle and one off to the side respectively).
You’ll find a familiar elevator that takes you to the terminal to unlock the door to the next area, but it now wants a password in conjunction to the gospel you found. Head to the eastern portion of the industrial zone and you’ll run right into the Glorious.
Return to your airship and pick up Josette, then return to the Glorious. Once inside, go south and past the first set of doors (past the downed barricade). Enter the door to your side for six treasure chests. In total, the Glorious’ stern contains 24 treasure chests.
Once you’ve looted the first set of six, go south and take the next side door for six more chests. The next door (4th door) has a set of stairs leading down to the brig. Head down there for now.
Afterwards, return to the entrance of the Glorious and go north to take the elevator. Once you exit the elevator, heal at the orbment station, then go south and skip the first door in the hallway (like the previous one). The second door contains six more treasure chests. Exit, go south and take the next door on the same side for three more treasure chests.
Now, check the other side of the hallway. If the doors have staircases, exit back the way you came. Right now, just loot the treasure chests. That should be all 24 treasure chests. Head down the hallway and you’ll come across another orbment station; use it and then go up the stairs for a fight. Continue to the other side of the top platform on the ship.
You’ve now entered the Forecastle of the Glorious. Inside will be seven more treasure chests. Skip both the doors when you first enter and go through the second set for three treasure chests in each respective room. Go north, skipping the last set of doors, then go on the elevator to take you to the floors below.
There are two branching paths that go in a loop; enter the southwestern one and examine the rooms for a lone treasure chest containing the security card you need.
Return to the brig to free everyone and you’ll run into a familiar antagonist once more…
This is the third part of the achievement to never lose to Gilbert. Remember way back in this guide when I said you had to beat him the first time when you were captured, then you beat him again at the Jenis Royal Academy? This is match three of three. Kick his butt!
Once you win the fight against Gilbert and his mechanical creatures, you’ll unlock the achievement:
Gilbert is the best, but don’t ever lose to him.
Walkthrough – Final Chapter
Next, unlock cell #1 to free the prisoners and enter a cutscene.
Return to the Bobcat and talk to Kyle to learn the password needed to access the next set of Liber Ark Tunnels that were password protected. When prompted, select:
- Password for that terminal
Return to the industrial district and access the terminal once more using the gospel and the password; this will unlock the door and lead to the Liber Ark Tunnels (3), which contains an additional 16 treasure chests to locate and collect.
When you reach the other side, use the nearby elevator to return to the Arseille and speak to Captain Schwarz about everything that has gone on up to this point.
Gear up and add Oliver & Kloe in your party, then return to the Axis Pillar. Before going in, you should have one hidden achievement left, and you should need 44 treasure chests left (472/516). The final area will contain all 44 chests.
It’s important to remember that if you want to end each character’s story arc, you must bring a specific party to each fight. For the first boss fight in the tower, bring Oliver & Chloe. For the second bring Zin, for the third bring Scherazard and for the fourth have Tita in your group.
It isn’t mandatory, but the dialogue and outcome of the fights are vastly different. You can look at it like this: bringing them with you for each respective fight is the “true” ending, while leaving them out is the bad? ending in a way. Either way does not effect any remaining achievement(s).
There are six floors to the tower and they contain the following treasure chests:
- Floor 1 – 7 treasure chests
- Floor 2 – 8 treasure chests
- Floor 3 – 4 treasure chests
- Floor 4 – 14 treasure chests
- Floor 5 – 4 treasure chests
- Floor 6 – 7 treasure chests
When you get to the 6th floor, rest at the orbment station to heal up. I recommend, if you didn’t already, to return to base camp. Pick whatever four members you want to use in your party and strip all the gear off of everyone else (armor/orbments) and stack the best equipment you have for the four you’re taking to the top of the tower. Every advantage is critical. Return, save it, then enter the elevator. If you cleared the Axis Pillar to this point, you also should have unlocked the achievement:
Leave no chest unmolested.
When you’re ready, approach the elevator and ride it up to the roof of the Axis Pillar (you cannot leave once you do). You’ll be confronted once more by a familiar adversary and be in for one heck of a fight.
This battle is the hardest in the game and for good reason. You knew it was coming since Renne tipped his hand earlier, but Loewe is a formidable foe.
There’s no one way to defeat him, but I structured my party as such:
- Estelle – Focused with her S-Craft attacks and ran her as a secondary offensive fighter. Spells when necessary for offensive. Gave her a “Grail Locket” to protect against all abnormal status effects. Cancelled arts with her staff when feasible.
- Joshua – Primary offensive fighter. Fed food to strengthen, speed up and boost defense. Equipped him with a “Grail Locket” and “Gladiator Belt” to constantly instread his CP counter during battle and spammed his S-Craft arts as much as I could.
- Scherazard – Mixture of offense and defense depending on the situation. Use Heaven’s Kiss to move everyone up the attack order to stay healed and dish out damage quickly.
- Kloe – Primary healer with “La Tearal” to heal everyone for 6,500 HP each time. Swapped healing to Scherazard when Kloe used “Kaempfer 2” to lower Loewe’s attack and defense.
Loewe will split bodies up to two times, but if you defeat his doubles he will not make more. He is hard capped at two additional ones and the mechanical lions that accompany him will not be re-summoned when defeated. I focus those with everyone to limit targets and reduce the incoming damage before focusing on Loewe.
Defeating the main Loewe over his doppelgangers will not end the fight; everyone must be defeated. Loewe is very susceptible to things like speed down, defense down and attack down, so make sure to keep those on him at all times.
When you finish off Loewe, you will descend to the core of the tower to face off against Professor Georg Weissmann, who has three forms. In terms of raw power, even at his final form, he is no match for Loewe and is kind of a pushover by comparison, which tracks for how the game describes Loewe.
He is immune to status-lowering attacks, so don’t bother. Stay healed and you should have no issues dealing with him at all. After defeating all three forms, enjoy the conclusion of the game. You will now have unlocked your final achievement:
Finish the game.
