Reborn: An Idle Roguelike RPG: A Walkthrough for Noobs by a Noob

Your character’s name is Katie. Move them with ASWD, arrow keys, or left clicking the screen with your mouse. Interact with NPCs and items using the Shift key or left mouse click.

1. Head north. Speak to the Mayor next to the bulletin board.
2. Continue north. Enter the Barracks. Dialogue with Reid will automatically pop up. Continue through the text with Shift or the mouse. When prompted, move Katie into position and use the mouse to click on Shyble. Continue through the dialogue.
3. Continue north. At the northwest corner of the green carpet is a book on a stand. This is the Help menu (aka Guidebook). It is worth reviewing before continuing.
4. Continue north. Interact with the statue. This is where you will level up your stats.
5. Continue north and exit the Barracks.
6. Continue north to the cave entrance. Speak to Holden.
7. Enter the cave. Once you enter the cave, fighting begins automatically. After you clear the first floor of all creatures, you will return to the Rebirth location (where the game began, aka Start).
8. From Start, head north and enter the Barracks. Dialogue with Reid will automatically pop up, followed by the Mayor. Follow the prompts. [When interacting with the statue, note that the word Reincarnate appears at the top right. The Guidebook explains Reincarnation, but it is much later in the game.]
9. After this sequence, you may explore other dwellings and NPCs or you may continue entering the cave to gain Exp to level up your stats. Note: Each time your Health drops to 0, you Rebirth and Katie appears at Start. The first time you may leave the cave without Rebirthing is when you clear floor 10. Use the “Queue the Village” button at the bottom right to automatically leave after clearing floor 10.

You can only leave the cave with what you have on you; you lose everything in your Gear slots. So, make sure your Gear slots are empty before going into the cave. The only item I have not lost is an empty bottle I purchased for $1000, but I have lost other items I purchased, like carrots and cabbage.

There is a storage chest in the Armory where you can leave items before going into the cave (left of the town notice board). Use it! But if you forget, Holden, the NPC just outside the cave entrance, can also hold items for you.

After your next Rebirth or possibly upon clearing floor 4 and Rebirthing, a dialogue with the Mayor will pop up, which unlocks quests.

After unlocking quests, the next time Katie enters the Barracks they will learn how to block. To block an attack, left mouse click on Katie. A perfect block will deflect some damage back on the enemy. A partial block will block some damage. A bad or missed block will cause double damage to Katie. You cannot attack and block at the same time.

Upon your next Rebirth, there will be a posting on the notice board.

QUEST 1:
Task: Give the Mayor some red slime eggs.
Completion: Enter the cave and collect some red slime eggs. Rebirth, then take them to the Mayor in his house.
Reward: 250 Exp, 125¢

Upon your next rebirth, there will be a posting on the notice board.

QUEST 2:
Task: Reya wants Katie to slay some Creatures.
Completion: Enter the cave and kill some Creatures. Rebirth, then return to Reya in the Mayor’s house.
Reward: 250 Exp, 125¢

After Rebirthing the next time or possibly after clearing floor 11 and Rebirthing, there will be a posting on the notice board.

QUEST 3:
Task: Reya would like Katie to help clean.
Completion: Speak to Reya in the Mayor’s House, then pick up/walk over 2-3 items of rubbish in the northwest room. Return to Reya.
Reward: 6000¢, Bracers (Leather), 3600 Exp

After Rebirthing the next time or possibly after clearing floor 16 and Rebirthing, there will be a posting on the notice board.

QUEST 4:
Task: Shyble wants to give Katie leggings.
Completion: Speak to Shyble in the training yard to the east of the Barracks.
Reward: 7000¢, Leggings (Leather), 4900 Exp
