Welcome to our guide for grinding EXP and kills in order to achieve all the special unit-related achievements in your favorite gaming platform. In this step-by-step guide, we will be sharing the method that we have personally used to easily level up and obtain all the desired achievements. So grab your controller and let’s dive into the world of gaming achievement hunting.
Introduction
Keep in mind, I only used the Free base maps, since I don’t own any of the Premium or Paid maps ones. Besides, it’ll be more practical for everyone, but I’m sure this method should work on any maps regardless.
P.S: If you decide to follow this method, you’ll get some additional progression for other Achievements, even though that’s not the main focus of the guide, so that’s a plus!
P.S 2: I’m pretty sure this guide isn’t perfect, and there must be way better options for doing this, but I wanted to share what I did, in case anyone was planning on grinding the achievements.
Maps
Loadout
Weapons
My main one is the SPR-12, since it is the most consistent rifle I’ve used. Keep in mind though, this is an Semi-Automatic rifle!
It manages to 2-shot S.W.A.T units, 3-Shot any Special Units and you can kill the Juggernaut in 24 shots if you have “Sharpshooter” Tier 3 skill which boost your damage.
If you want an alternative, the BPR-28 is one of the most balanced overall in terms of stats. Solid damage, great ammo magazine & reserve, decent fire rate and good accuracy.
For pistols, the 11A1 takes the winning spot. It’s like a mini SPR-12, with lower stats of course. Like the SPR-12 it can 2-shot S.W.A.T units, 3-Shot any Special Units paired with the “Sharpshooter” skill. You can either put on a Suppressor (It’ll reduce the damage) or Flash Hider, if you are going loud or stealth. Works for both cases.
Tools
Appareance
You can get either the Light or Medium Body Armor starting out, but the Heavy Body Armor is the best one, since it offers more armor points and protection.
Skills
Either way, you’ll unlock them pretty fast and get them to Tier 3 with the EXP farming method. You can pick which ones you want to get first. It’s just a matter of what you want to focus on first, depending on what you’re choosing to do.
EXP Farming – Part 1
For this method, we are going to be choosing: Pegasus Museum of Art.
As for loadout, here’s what we are going to bring:
- Any weapon of your choice is fine. One of them has to be silenced, preferably the pistol.
- Any Lock Pick can be used, including the Basic Lock Pick. However, obtaining the Expert Lock Pick will significantly enhance your efficiency, as it will enable you to pick locks much quicker.
- Hacking Device, it’s not “necessarily” needed, but it’ll help you out get more EXP. You can skip it if you don’t have it yet.
So, in the game there’s just a few “interactions” that rewards players with EXP.
- Successfully lock picking any lock.
- Time (I’ll explain more about this later on).
With that in mind, we are going to lock pick, A LOT. Here’s what we are going to do.
Once you are in the map, put in your duffel bag the Lock Pick and Hacking Device (If you got it unlocked, otherwise skip).
After that, run to the front of the Museum.
Remember we talked about how Successfully lock picking any locks, gives you EXP? Well, here’s the trick.
You can lock pick BOTH sides of (Almost) any door in the game, making it not only 1 single lock, but 2. Essentially you are able to double every door lock.
Start by lock picking the doors on the left side.
Once you’re done, open one of the doors and quickly open the other one from the other side.
Now, you can lock pick the 2nd lock from the opposite side. The lock is in the same spot as the 1st one, but it won’t show like it usually does.
Repeat the process with the other door.
After you finish with the doors on the left side, proceed with the doors on the right side now. And repeat the process.
Once you’re done with the front doors, grab your duffel bag (Remember to put all your tools back in it) and get ready to run inside. As soon as you see the guard walk towards the door, run behind the box on the left side, and reach the door behind him.
Now you got to be quick! You need to lock pick BOTH locks, before the guard and the camera right in front start facing your direction.
When you are done, quickly open one of the side, and run in.
Close the door, and lock pick both of them again. Remember, the locks are located in the same spot as the 1st ones.
Great! Now that you are done with those doors (And much safer), you can proceed to the next step. First, you got to get rid of the guard patrolling in the hallway. Put your duffel bag next to the door right in front of us on the left side, and take care of the guard.
With the guard gone, we’ll have all this area for us, making it way easier to move around & lock pick the next doors. We are going to start with the doors on the left side, and repeat the same process we’ve been doing. Lock pick both front sides first, then the opposite sides.
Now, be CAREFUL! There’s a camera inside the room that will detect you extremely quickly.
Wait until the camera is facing away from you, and quickly open one of the doors, so you can lock pick the opposite side. Repeat the process for the other door as well.
Now that we’ve taken care of those doors, we can move on to the next ones. Grab your duffel bag, and go to the next set of doors, on the right side this time.
You know the deal, lock pick, lock pick, lock pick. Same process.
EXP Farming – Part 2
Same deal as usual. Lock pick both side of the doors.
Inside the room, you can find the Utility Keycard. Grab it and put it in your duffel bag if you don’t have the Hacking device yet, If you do just leave it.
Excellent! We are done with this area. Now backtrack the exact way we came in, and go to the front of the museum. Same spot we entered at the start.
Now we are going to head to the back of the museum.
Now, lock pick both sides of this door. Be careful though, there’s 1 guard patrolling inside, so you got to be quick when you lock pick the other side.
It might not be there when you open the door, so I suggest waiting for him to repeat his patrolling cycle again just to be safe or if you are feeling brave, you can rush in, lock pick the opposite side of the door and then go straight for the next door if you think you got enough time.
Once you reached this door, quickly lock pick and run in.
After that you can lock pick the other side of the door and close it.
Now you got an safer area to work with. You can drop your duffel bag and grab either the Hacking Device (If you have it), or the Utility keycard and go downstairs.
You can stand in that corner, and the camera below won’t spot you, only if you crouch.
Wait until the camera is facing the other way, and run to the door. Stay as close as possible to the wall.
When you reach the door, you can safely hack the keypad or use the Utility Key card.
Disable the alarm, backtrack and head back upstairs. You can ditch your Hacking Device / Utility Keycard, we won’t need it.
Now, get ready to head back outside with your duffel bag. Remember, keep an eye out for the guard and be careful!
Once outisde, head for the door on the left.
Lock pick the door, and don’t go in yet. First shoot the camera on the right top corner, it’ll lure one the guards. Be ready to take him out fast!
Side Note: This door is the only one (As far as I know), that doesn’t have a 2nd lock on the other side.
Now, you need to grab the phone and use it on the phone reader on the other room, not the one you are in. Grab the phone and head back outside and go to the door on the right.
Be careful! The guard might be in the room when you headback, so wait until he’s gone and quickly get in.
EXP Farming – Part 3
First take care of the guard inside the room, then pick both side of the door as usual. By taking that guard out, we’ll be getting rid off all the cameras, making moving around much safer.
After we’re done with the security room, go upstairs trough the stairs on the left side.
Lock pick the door right in front, but don’t open it yet, wait until the guard is right outside the door.
When the guard is in position, take care of him, and grab his phone. You are going to bring it back downstairs, to the phone reader just to the left of the stairs. Head back to the same door and lock pick the other side as well.
Now we got this whole area guard free. Grab your lock pick, and go to through the main area.
Once there, we are going to lock pick the door right in front. Same process.
Close it after you’re done, and move on to the door on the right side.
That’s right, you guess it. Lock pick, lock pick, lock pick. Same deal.
Now move on to the display cases. Lock pick all of them.
Go and lock pick the rest of them in the other room.
Perfect! We are almost done. Now, just grab the cart in the “Art Exhibit” room, and gather all the statues and painting.
Time to go! Grab the cart, and just backtrack to our truck.
It’s better to walk backward with your cart, so you can easily go through the door. Align the cart with the door, and move backward.
Side note: Sometimes the cart might get stuck and won’t come out. You can jiggle a bit with your mouse and move side to side, until it gets through.
And we are done! Smooth execution and extraction.
Now at this point, you can choose to either extract and get all that juicy EXP, OR, you can go loud to farm Special Units Kills. (I’ll explain this method on the “Special Units Kill” section)
With enough practice, you should set your own rhythm and repeat the map even faster, allowing you to level up all the Skills to Tier 3. I suggest you to get 2 to 3 skills active at once, since you’ll get LOTS of EXP. It should be enough for all of them, since you’ll maximize the EXP earned, and you won’t be wasting any of it! Sure, you can do 1 by 1 and level them in 1 go, but you won’t benefit from the surplus of EXP.
Besides, you’ll be getting a decent amount of money each time you extract, so that’s a bonus! You can start saving up to unlock other stuff to further improve the farming process.
As an additional bonus, you’ll get progression for the following Achievements:
Types of Special Units
These type of units are the most common ones, you’ll see them a lot. They aren’t much of a threat when facing them alone, but if you get surrounded by a few, they can deal serious damage and block your way.
They deal moderate damage, and have decent HP points (2-Shot to kill using SPR-12).
This Unit won’t attack you. His only objective it’s run in and Sabotage the Powerbox. It’s super fast, so keep and eye out for him or you might miss him. Although you can manage to get them stuck (More on that later on)
Other than that, he’s fairly resistant (3-Shot to kill using SPR-12).
Ok, sorry for losing my composure. BUT JESUS, these units are one of the most sneaky and annoying little goblings.
I can’t stress enough how many of those $h!theads I’ve missed when I was farming the kills for them. There’s nothing that let you know when they’re around (Like a sound cue or something). Sure you can see their traps, but by the time you noticed them, they’re GONE.
Their only purpose is to creep up on you, place down a barbed wire trap and disappear without you even noticing.
The barbed wire trap only slows you down when you step on it, but other than that you can break them by shooting. You got to always watch your back and your surroundings, or you might miss them.
Stats wise, they are fairly resistant (3-Shot to kill using SPR-12) and won’t attack the player.
Pretty normal unit, nothing “Special” about this one. Just normal S.W.A.T Unit, but with Shield and pistol.
Shoot them at their feet and they are done. (3-Shot to kill using SPR-12)
Same as the Shield, only with flashy lights. Just look away when they start to blind you and you’ll be good.
Shoot them at their feet and they are done. (3-Shot to kill using SPR-12)
One of the most resilient unit (As his name implies). Not so hard to deal with if he’s alone, so always make sure to clear the room before focusing on him.
Got tons of HP, and deals decent amount of damage. (24 to 25 Shots to kill using SPR-12)
Special Units Kills Farming – Part 1
For this method, we are going to be choosing: Orbital Bank.
As for loadout, here’s what we are going to bring:
- Any weapon of your choice is fine, this time around we are going loud! (You can check my suggested weapons, in “Weapons” section)
- Battering Ram. You can skip it if you don’t have it, but it’ll make getting out with the loot much easier.
- Basic Drill, just for transportation sake, since it doesn’t take much space in the duffel bag.
So, we are going to be “triggering” the Special Units to keep spawning, by repeatedly letting the Power boxes get sabotaged.
They’ll keep pouring in non-stop, allowing more probabilities for the Special Units to spawn!
Keep in mind, this method will take longer, since the whole objective is to kill as many Special Units as we can.
Once you are in the map, put in your duffel bag the Basic Drill and Battering Ram (Skip if you don’t have it). Make sure the Battering Ram stick out from your duffel bag, as show below, it’ll be crucial later on.
Now, shoot the windows (2 on the left side, and 2 on the right side) outside the building. This will trigger the alarm and lure out all the Guards inside the bank. (There are 10 Guards in total)
Once the guards start coming out, take care of them, but be careful! Civilian might come running as well. Remember, there are 10 Guards in total.
After you take out all 10 Guards, grab your duffel bag and run to the door right in front and break it down. If you don’t have the Battering Ram yet, use the Drill instead.
Now, here’s one trick. You can use the Battering Ram while it’s on your duffel bag. Remember how I told you how to set up your duffel bag in the beginning? That’s how you can use it! Since the Battering Ram it’s sticking out from your duffel bag, there’s no need to drop your bag down and grab the Battering Ram. Just swing your duffel bag, and you’re good to go!
It might take a few try to get the hang of it, so I suggest trying it out a few times beforehand. (You can look Straight down, and then Look up. Make sure the duffel bag is not moving, and facing the door). Just restart the map if the Police Units start to spawn, and once you’re ready, continue with the process.
Now, get inside and break the door on the right.
Go upstairs, and break the door on the 2nd floor.
After, that go straight for the Vault.
Once you’re there, put your duffle bag down, and drill the door on the left side.
Now, here’s another trick. Position yourself in the middle of the fence without dropping your drill. What you want to do, is jump repeatedly until you CLIMB to the other side of the fence.
Once you’re on the other side, drill both parts of the Vault.
Ditch your Drill since we won’t be needing it anymore and jump back to the other side of the fence.
We’ve now taken care of the Vault and we don’t have to worry to open it later on when we finish with the Powerboxes, since it’ll be already open by the time we are done.
Leave the duffel bag with the Battering Ram near the Vault, we’ll use it later.
Keep in mind that Police units will spawn, so take out your gun and get ready to jump downstairs. We are going to start the 1st Powerbox. We need to backtrack the way we came in, but we are taking a little shortcut this time.
Instead of going down using the stairs, you can jump over the railing. Saving time and we’ll be landing next to the 1st Powerbox.
Start the Powerbox and wait for the Special Units to spawn in.
Special Units Kills Farming – Part 2
Now, what you need to do is keep moving. Take out any of the S.W.A.T Units you see, as fast as you can. That way, you won’t be overwhelmed by many units, and you can keep the areas clear so you can easily spot the Special Units. I like to go between the back door entrance we opened at the beginning, and the main area where the Powerbox is located.
As you can see, Special Units already start to spawn. In this case, we found the Blinding Shield unit. Take care of any Special Units that you came a cross, and keep clearing.
Of course, the Powerbox will be sabotaged by the Powerbox Defuser units.
Defuser Mechanic, Spawn System & EXP
Before we continue with the farming process, I’ll like to explain a few things about the Defuser and the Spawning system and how you can even get decent amounts of EXP.
Here’s the main trick / mechanic I’ve noticed about the Powerbox Defuser.
If you leave the Defuser sabotage the Powerbox, he will either run off after he sabotage OR gets stuck in front.
I don’t know what makes him get stuck in place, but what I did (And worked so far) is:
- Keep an eye on the Powerbox.
- Once I spot the Defuser, I’ll run to the Powerbox, stand next to him and wait until he’s done.
- If he runs away, I don’t kill him and wait until he came back.
Eventually, he’ll get stuck like the Screenshots below.
If you manage to get him stuck, you’ll be guaranteeing 2 things:
- You get 1 Defuser spawn & kill.
- You can keep spawning S.W.A.T & Special Units.
That way, you can prolong the farming as long as you want AND the Police Units will keep pouring-in the bank. The main “Loop” should be like this:
- Let the Defuser sabotage the Powerbox.
- Get Defuser Stuck.
- Keep restarting the Powerbox.
It can get pretty chaotic! Since you’ll be continuously spawning units, more Defuser will spawn & get stuck. You can even get 2 at the same time!
In here I had more than 10 Defuser stuck at once
The spawning system seems to be RNG based (Not completely sure) and in some sort of Wave type, since units always spawn in a determined number and once they are eliminated, another wave will appear. Of course, between waves you have common units (S.W.A.T.S) sprinkled with 1 to 3 Special Units (It can be random which one you’ll get). Sometimes you can get tons of Special Units, and others you barely get any.
Although some actions seem to “trigger” specific units to spawn. Like we previously saw with the Defuser.
Another example is with the Shield units. Sometimes when either the Shield or Blinding Shield unit spawn and you kill them, you can guarantee that the next Shield unit spawn will be the other variant.
Let’s say the Shield unit spawn and you kill him, the next Shield to spawn will be the Blinding Shield. I’ve constantly seen it when I kill one of them, in the next wave of enemies the other variant spawns in.
Keep in mind that it can also repeat the same unit as well. You kill one Shield unit and get one Shield unit to spawn again. It’s less common, but it can happen.
I’m not sure if there’s a “trigger” for them, but that’s what I’ve noticed so far.
Same deal with the other type of units. Although I can say the Juggernaut is quite common, you might even get 2 of them at the same times in each wave.
Now, the “problem” with the Interceptor, is that he isn’t as common as the other units, but also he’s really stealthy and you can miss him very easily. He doesn’t have any way of recognize when he spawn or if he’s even near you. Making him way hard to track down. Essentially he doesn’t spawn as frequently as the other units, and when he does you have the chance to miss him as well.
One of the “triggers” to spawn them (Both Juggernaut and the Interceptor) is when you are done with the Powerboxes, and you are in the “Escape with the Money!” stage.
So, the system in a nutshell works like this (A.K.A TL;DR):
I know you must be wondering, “Haven’t you covered EXP method already?” and yes, that’s correct, but I’ve found out you can also get EXP on Loud Heist by just literally waiting.
Remember how I told you at the start that you can get EXP just with time? Here’s how it works.
I noticed in one of my runs (And one of my luckiest one as well) when I was farming kills. I finally managed to extract, then suddenly I got a bunch EXP out of nowhere. It was weird, since I didn’t lock pick anything.
What popped up in my mind right away was the duration of the round. It took me 1h:45min in total.
So I started to test that theory out, and to my surprise it worked.
I started a new round and this time, I had a timer with me. I set it to 45min exactly, and once the timer was up, I extracted and Voilà!, I got more EXP!.
Basically, you get EXP by the amount of time you spend on the heist. Seems like it doesn’t matter if you are in Stealth or Loud, works on both cases.
So you can still get EXP while farming kills, as an additional bonus!
Special Units Kills Farming – Part 3
- You can keep the Defuser on “Loop” and farm units (You can do this as long as you want).
- Kill any of the Defuser you see after they sabotage the Powerbox (You are going to still prolong heist, but you can move on to other Powerboxes since the Defuser won’t be active as much).
Basically, 1st option is Full Farm mode, if your main focus is just achievements kills, and 2nd option, is for Progression, since you’ll be still farming kills, but also you’ll be getting EXP / Money as well each time you extract.
So, let’s say you want to extract. Let’s continue where we left off.
After the 1st Powerbox get Sabotaged, kill the Defuser and restart it again. Repeat this process until you manage to complete the Powerbox Short Wiring. Of course, while you wait, keep moving back and forward, killing any units that you see.
[/previewicon
Once the Powerbox is done, move to the 2nd one, start Short Wiring and keep killing.
2nd Powerbox done, move on to the 3rd one. Same deal, move and kill.
3rd down, 1 more to go. Let’s move to the 4th one.
4th Powerbox completed, we are done! Now let’s get the Vault Loot.
Once you’re in the Vault, grab the Battering Ram and break the door of the left side. (If you don’t have it, skip this step)
Special Units Kills Farming – Part 4
Now that we are done, it’s time to extract! Grab the cart, and backtrack to our truck. We are going to be exiting through the back door, same one from the beginning. Thanks to all the door we broke on our way up, it’s much easier to get the cart out.
Remember, is better to walk backward with your cart, so you can easily go trough the doors. Align the cart with the door frame, and move backward.
Side note: Sometimes the cart might get stuck and won’t come out. You can jiggle a bit with your mouse and move from side to side, until it gets through.
Make sure to clear the area first before taking the cart. The enemies can block you and make the cart spill all the loot!
Excellent! Not only you get a really hefty amount of money, BUT, you also get EXP as a bonus! Of course, the real value you get from this is the progression for all the kill related achvs!
As an additional bonus, you’ll get progression for the following Achievements:
And of course, our main goal:
Finishing Thoughts
What helped me to prolong the grinding is to relax, put some music and do few sessions in a row, take a break, and so on.
Remember, every single upgrade that you can get, will improve your progression and make everything 10 times easier. From the Skills to the gear you can get.
So save up enough money, and start choosing what you want to get first.
And that’s pretty much it! I hoped this guide was helpful and managed to give you a better idea on how to get those Achievements. Go get that shiny medal!
This is my total playtime. Look at that beuty, 100%. *Cheff Kiss* (It wasn’t worth it, pls send help)
Holy, that took a WHILE. Well, you finally reached the end of the guide, so:
Big shout-out to:
