New Game +
- New Game +
You unlock the NG+ mode after beating the game once on any difficulty. SImply beat the game on the NG+ run to get the achievement.
Time Travel
- Time Travel
Pretty easy to do on NG+ after you’ve beaten the game a few times. Just ignore the collectibles and herbs/objects (you don’t really need them to beat the game anyway) and memorize puzzle solutions.
Uncorrupted
- Uncorrupted
You unlock the Impossible difficulty after you beat the game once.
If your first playthrough was on Hard, this achievement will be pretty easy for you to get. The only significant differences between “Hard” and “Impossible” are ammo (the amount of clips is the same across all difficulties, however the amount of bullets said clips come with is different; on “Impossible” each clip contains about 4 bullets if you don’t use the ‘luck’ mix), enemy damage, enemy health and pill recovery. Inventory is in real time (which isn’t a big deal, unless you speedrun) and auto aim is turned off (IMO auto aim is pretty detrimental anyway for dealing with homunculus so it’s a good thing).
If you don’t miss your shots, there is totally enough ammo for you, however ‘luck’ mixes are really useful on this difficulty. I also recommend taking a slower approach and collecting all the items and ammo present on each level.
Homunculus are still one-shot to the head, so you can easily dispatch them from distance or let them run close to you, make them miss their pounce and shoot them in the head while they recover from their attack. They are, however, pretty dangerous if they are grouped up and managed to notice you. Don’t use shotgun on homunculus, save it for specters and chimeras.
Specters are bullet sponges (before you level up that sweet sweet Sanctus at least) so I recommend stealthing around them (they are blind, so if you crouch and they don’t accidentally bump right into you, they won’t notice you) or running away from them. Kill them only when it’s absolutely necessary, like if they are in areas you are going to spend a lot of time in (e.g. the train station in chapter 3) or if homunculus are ahead of you. Fighting both specters and homunculus at the same time will get you killed. When you play as Eliza simply run away from all specters, don’t waste precious ammo on them.
Pills recover only about 10% of your hp, however dying or finishing a chapter resets your health to 100%. You don’t really need pills anyway, you are not David Leatherhoff.
Getting the hunting rifle really helps speed up the final boss fight, so go for it.
Grand Gravedigger
- Grand Gravedigger
There are a total of 9 bodies you are able to bury. Here is the ordered list:
After you get the key to the Mausoleum and traverse the Cannabis Plantation, a second fight with Vera occurs. Once you defeat him and try to leave the area, a cutscene plays and after the cutscene ends you get the option to bury Vera. This one is pretty hard to miss as it serves as an introduction to the burial mechanic.
At the very beginning of chapter 3, near the Ruined House, after the Town Hall sequence, the police officer turns into a specter. Kill him and bury his body. You are unlikely to miss this one.
After you cross the bridge, ahead of you is the Train Station and to the right of you is the Town. It is an optional location, you are not required to go there. There is a church in the Town, on the left of its gate, in the corner, lies a body of the pigeon. Bury it. This one is super easy to miss, make sure you visit the Town, before you go the Train Station (once you enter the train that arrives at the Train Station you can no longer go to the Town, be warned).
Once you reach the end of the train that arrives at the Train Station, a cutscene plays and a fight with an armored specter occurs. After you defeat him, bury the corpse of the unlucky random dude. This one is easy to miss.
As you gain control from Eliza back to The Politician and approach the gate of the train station, a fight with chimera of Eugenio Garcia occurs. Bury his body after you defeat him. This one is hard to miss.
After you exit the library on the second floor of the Garcia Mansion, a fight with chimera of Sarah Garcia occurs. After you defeat her, bury her. This one is hard to miss.
After you gain control from Eliza back to the Politician, you can see the corpse of chimera of Ursula Garcia in front of the Alchemist’s House. Bury her. This one is hard to miss.
After the fight with Vargas, a cutscene plays where he kills Eliza’s rat (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥). After you gain control, approach the place from where Vargas was shooting (you are supposed to go in that general direction to fight chimera of Octavio anyway) and bury the rat. This one is hard to miss.
After you defeat chimera of Octavio Garcia, a cutscene plays and after it ends you end up right in front of his corpse. Bury him. This one is very hard to miss.
Parallel Worlds
- Parallel Worlds
ALL THREE ENDINGS HAVE TO BE UNLOCKED IN THE SAME SAVEFILE. So you beat a game once and then beat the game on NG+ two more times. For some reason, the achievement doesn’t unlock if you have different endings scattered across savefiles.
Endings are based on your corruption level. Your corruption level goes down by 10% each time you perform a burial. Your corruption level goes up if you try to shoot Karai Vosa and I am not sure if there are any other ways to increase it (or why would you even want that frankly).
You need to finish the game with 100% corruption level. Simply do not perform burials at all.
You need to finish the game with 90%-20% corruption level. Perform 1 to 8 burials.
You need to get to the first Blind Maid bossfight while having 10% corruption. Performing all burials on the spot (i.e. as soon as you get the option to bury — do it) should do the trick. Refer to the “Grand Gravedigger” section for the locations of burials.
Master Runner
- Master Runner
To get this achievement, you need to max out each of the 3 levels of Runner. Maxing out each level is pretty straightforward (just navigate to the ‘upgrades’ tab in the in-game menu, you will be given the requirements for each level), however unlocking new levels is a bit harder. The progress carries over if you start a NG+ run, you will likely be unable to get “Master Runner” during your first playthrough.
You get the first level of Runner after you find the first projection of the Alchemist’s house and interact with the note. Each chapter features either a projection of the Alchemist’s house, or the real one (in chapter 4 that is). They are all easy to find as they are located in areas required to visit. In chapter 1 you can find the projection of the Alchemist’s house after you escape Vera for the first time and pick up the gun in the shed. Go outside Elvio’s Cabin and look behind it, you won’t miss it.
To unlock the second and the third levels of Runner you need 3 and 5 Runner tickets respectively (8 in total). You spend said tickets in the Alhemist house, by interacting with a green object. I believe, there are a total of 10 Runner tickets scattered across the game, so you have a few extra. Below are the locations of said Runner tickets:
In the house where you get the Cemetry key:
Right next to the entrance to the Cemetry:
On the hill, on the floor of the projection of the Alchemist’s house:
In the Town, behind a house next to the church:
In the very left train on the Train Station:
In the train that arrives at the Train Station:
On the second floor of the Garcia Mansion, in the library:
Inside of the Alchemist’s House:
Master Sanity
- Master Sanity
To get this achievement, you need to max out each of the 3 levels of Sanity. The mechanics are pretty much identical to those of Runner, the only difference being you don’t get a ‘free’ level of Sanity like you do with the Runner, i.e. you need 1 Sanity ticket to unlock the first level of Sanity. The progress carries over if you start a NG+ run, you will likely be unable to get “Master Sanity” during your first playthrough.
To unlock all three levels of Sanity you need 1, 3 and 5 Sanity tickets respectively (9 in total). I believe, there are a total of 11 Sanity tickets scattered across the game, so you have a few extra. Below are the locations of said Sanity tickets:
Behind Elvio’s Cabin:
On the fallen pillar, next to the old house (easy to miss, clips into the pillar):
In the Mausoleum, on the floor (pick it up before picking up Arsenic):
In the Catacombs, in the closed off section:
In the Town, on one of the houses, next to a long path to the art piece #13:
In the Train Station, on the table in the room behind the clock:
On the first floor of the Garcia Mansion, in the kitchen:
In one of the rooms on the first floor of the Garcia Mansion:
In the attic of the Garcia Mansion:
In one of the rooms on the second floor of the Garcia Mansion:
Master Sanctus
- Master Sanctus
To get this achievement, you need to max out each of the 3 levels of Sanctus. Maxing out each level is pretty straightforward (just navigate to the ‘upgrades’ tab in the in-game menu, you will be given the requirements for each level), however unlocking new levels is a bit harder. The progress carries over if you start a NG+ run, you will likely be unable to get “Master Sanctus” during your first playthrough.
Unlike Runner and Sanity, you unlock new levels of Sanctus as soon as you find the associated item. There is one Sanctus item in each chapter, starting with chapter 2 (3 in total). Below are the locations:
During the National Wellfare Institute sequence. As soon as you appear there, turn around and you’ll see the Sanctus item:
When you enter the Town, you will meet Karai Vosa. Speak to him and he will give you the key to the church. You will find the Sanctus item inside the church, next to a chimera:
After you enter attic of the Garcia Mansion for the first time, you end up in the catacombs under the Alchemist’s House. There are three doors with a rusty padlock (which can be removed with some mercury concoction you can find inside of the catacombs). Behind one of these doors is another door with a gold padlock. Interacting with it says “I must go to a safe place”.
After you craft Aqua Regia and use it on the gold padlock of the entrance door, you can retrieve your weapons and leave via the ladder. DO NOT LEAVE VIA THE LADDER, YOU CANNOT RETURN TO THE CATACOMBS AFTER YOU LEAVE THEM. Once you have your guns, backtrack to the previously mentioned door and use Aqua Regia on the padlock. Inside, you will find a Sanctus item, guarded by Megamunculus. Dispatch the Megamungulus and get the Sanctus item (you can cheese the fight if you don’t enter the actual room and just shoot at the beast from the hallway).
Master Hunter
- Master Hunter
In chapter 4 you can obtain the hunting rifle if you collect 14 white gems scattered across the chapter and bring them to the ‘special place’. I am pretty sure that it is impossible to obtain the hunting rifle on the EASY difficulty as one of the gems just doesn’t spawn. IF YOU GO FOR THE ENDING B MAKE SURE TO INTERACT WITH THE “SPECIAL PLACE” DURING THE FIGHT WITH THE BLIND MAID, YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO DO IT AFTER IT. Below are the locations of the white gems in order of appearance:
Unlimite ammo
- Unlimite ammo
I’m not sure what are the exact requirements for the unlimited ammo since I got it for two different savefiles under severely different circumstances. I’ll describe each thouroghly, so you can replicate it.
I suppose getting an S+ run should 100% get you the unlimited ammo for the savefile of said run. Focus on completing the game as fast as possible, while also making sure to die 0 times and to kill every single enemy on your way. I recommend going for it on a savefile where you already got all your collectibles and upgrades. Below is a more thorough description.
After each chapter your performance is rated in 4 categories: time, amount of deaths, accuracy and “clear level”. First three are straightforward, the fourth one counts how many ‘valuable items’ (herbs, pills, objects and ammo; likely notes, pieces of art and psychophonies count too, another reason to go for the S+ run on NG+) you have collected. You cannot get a ranking higher than S in each category.
After you finish the game, your overall performance is once again calculated in these 4 categories and this time you can get S+ rankings in each category.
To get an S+ run I played on easy difficulty on NG+ run. I managed to beat the game in 1 hour and 46 minutes (I believe that playtime under 2 hours should do for the S+ ranking on time), I had 0 deaths (dying 0 times is absolutely mandatory, you are probably better off reloading the game if you are close to dying or restarting the run if you managed to die), I had an accuracy of 95% and I had some random low rating for ‘clear level’ (I basically ignored picking up ‘valuable items’, except for ammo; I don’t think this category is very important).
Once you beat the game a few times, speedrunning it is pretty easy since you know puzzle solutions and enemy spawns. Dying 0 times is pretty easy when you play on NG+ or on lower difficulties. To get high accuracy, I killed all the enemies on my way and made sure to shoot homunculus in the torso (to spend more bullets on them). Specters are you friends in getting high accuracy since they are bullet sponges. Playing on NG+ is really good since you have unlimited sprint from the very beginning of the game, which really helps reduce the playthrough time of the first chapter.
I also managed to get the unlimited ammo on the “Impossible” run savefile. This time, I got ulmited ammo after seeing all three endings and getting rank “B” on the last third run. I am not sure how exactly this happened. It might be that unlimited ammo requirements depend on the difficulty level (like S+ for easy, S for normal, A for hard and B for impossible). Or maybe it is some impossible only thing that you get unlimited ammo after seeing all three endings.
Master Soundman
- Master Soundman
This is the easiest of the collectible achievements. You will likely get it during your first playthrough unless you get annoyed with the mechanics of recording a psychophony. There are a total of 14 psychophonies, you can check the in-game maps to see the number of psychophonies in the level (opening any map in the tab menu shows how many valuable items there are in your current chapter to be precise). Psychophonies are pretty damn annoying to record, since you need to find a proper angle. Walking around and spinning your camera (slooooooooooooowly), while pressing the “F” key repeatedly should do the trick. Below are the locations for each psychophony.
Inside of the old house:
In the basement of the old house, in the room where you get the key:
On the hill, next to a grave:
In the Town, inside the church (talk to Karai Vosa to get the key):
Next to one of the benches outside of the Train Station:

Master Librarian
- Master Librarian
There are a total of 46 (actually 47) notes in the game. They are pretty easy to find if you investigate the locations thouroghly. As with the psychophonies, the in-game maps show the amount of notes in each level. Below are the locations.

Inside the projection of the Alchemist’s House (2 notes):
Next to the Tool Cabin:
On the fence of the Electric Station, MAKE SURE TO GO THERE BEFORE YOU EVER GO THE MANGO PLANTATION TO GET THE KEY OR THE NOTE DISAPPEARS
