This guide is designed to help you earn all of the achievements in Six Ages 2: Lights Going Out. It is organized into different categories to make it easier for you to navigate and achieve 100% completion.
Introduction
So as to make it easier to navigate, I have divided the achievements into several categories.
WARNING: unmarked spoilers abound!

Victory Achievements
- Avoid triggering any loss conditions. Most commonly, you lose if you have too few horses, cows or people, or if you have too many sick. Some events can also cause an instant game loss, based on your choices.
- Survive until Chaos dissolves the world, leaving only one of your clan members alive. This will happen in around 35-40 years if you chose a short game (“two generations”) and almost 50 if you chose a long game (“three generations”). When you are informed that Humakt is dead, this means that there are only 12 turns left until the end of the game. Two turns later, you will get the “Horizon Dies” event, which warns you that this is the very last year of the game.
- Your sole surviving clan member must survive in the Dead World, reach the Spider’s lair, and re-weave the world. Many factors influence your chance of success here: the survivor’s skills, but also how you responded certain events during the game. Some things that can help are if you displayed four virtues: hope, openness to new ways, selflessness and insight. Having explored the map will also increase your chances. Note that if you are very successful in the Dead World but fail to re-weave the world, you can still win; conversely, if you fare poorly in the Dead World but do exceptionally well in the re-weaving part, you can also win.
Note: You can check how many years there are until the game ends by exploring the Whisperlands, just north of the Autumn Mountains. There is a random event where your explorers must defeat a band of undead, after which the Whispering Stones will tell them how many years are left and which virtues you should work on if you are to win.
You must win a game on each difficulty to get the achievement. It doesn’t matter if it’s a short or long game. Unlike in some other games, you don’t automatically get the achievements for the lower difficulty levels when you win a game on the higher one.
As above, but you are not allowed to restore even once. At the end of clan creation, under the “Restores” option, you can select “None”, which will prevent you from restoring your game. I *think* that you can get this achievement even if you choose to allow restoring and refrain from doing so, but I’m not sure.
Simply win 5 or 10 times on any difficulty level or game length. Note that, once you win a game, you cannot load it again. So you can’t simply keep reloading the endgame and spamming victories!
Also, I believe that a game in which you get a loss achievement doesn’t count either. So, for example, if you get Cannibalism Loss, then reload the game and win it, it will not count towards the Five Victories/Ten Victories achievement.
At clan creation, select “It would probably be three generations before Chaos destroyed everything.” Then win the game. I believe the difficulty level doesn’t matter.
You need to win the game while avoiding having anyone starve. Hence, you need good food production. Here are some ways to keep your people fed:
- Gods: Build shrines to Dostal (for Sureshot), Uralda (for Milk Blessing) and Inilla (for Rootle). Uralda’s Calf Blessing and Voriof’s Lamb Blessing can help indirectly, by growing your Herds (which produce food).
- Spirits: Earthworm and Cheese spirits are great for boosting your food production. The Berry and Heron spirits can give you a lump sum of food, but this is usually only slightly more than what you need to keep your clan fed for that turn. The Crow spirit might help your foragers get more food, but I’m not sure, and the Sow spirit is supposed to help in situations involving food, but I’m not exactly sure how that works either.
- Ventures: Do the Convert Pastures to Fields as soon as possible when prompted by the game. Hunting and Foraging can help you gather more food throughout the year (avoid doing them in Dark Season, as they’re less effective then).
- Skills: Have a person whose Food skill is rated as Renowned or Heroic on your clan ring.
- Sacred Time magic: Fields and Wilds magic help you produce your food – you’ll usually need to max them out if possible. Pastures magic helps indirectly, by increasing your Herds, which in turn boost your food production. Having Dostal and Inilla worshippers on your ring allows you to put more magic in Wilds; an Ernalda worshipper allows you to put more magic in Fields, while Redalda, Voriof and Uralda worshippers allow you to put more in Pastures.
- Foraging missions: Foraging can potentially net you up to two seasons’ worth of food, but is risky; in the worst case, you can lose your entire party this way. The Moss spirit can help keep your foragers safe.
- Trading missions: You can trade for food, but it is usually expensive. Sometimes the other clan may not have any to spare.
- Diplomacy: You can ask for food from other clans that owe you a favor, but this usually gives you only a small amount. And again, the clan may not have any food to spare when you ask them.
- Events: There are many events that can influence your food production positively or negatively. For the most part, it should be self-evident, so I’m not going to detail them here.
You must win a game with Iverlantho as your king. Iverlantho always starts aged 49, and a short game typically lasts 35-40 years, so it is very unlikely that Iverlantho will survive this long naturally. However, there are several things that you can do to reverse-age him:
- Gods’ War portals: successfully finishing the Eurmal quest gives you the option to ask for “youth”, which will reduce the age of most of your nobles by seven years. Also, giving Eurmal the sword during the first scene of his quest will make the world end several years earlier – so Iverlantho doesn’t have to live as long! Completing Beren’s quest gives you the option to ask for prolonged life for your king, which can reverse-age Iverlantho for as much as 13 years.
- Venef’s death: if Venef dies while Iverlantho is still alive, you can call upon Beren to give Iverlantho longevity, which can reverse-age him for 13 years if successful. Note that it is unlikely that Venef dies before Iverlantho does. One way to make it happen is to send Venef to perform the Humakt ritual, and have him killed in the fight against Zorak Zoran.
- Star Captain Arzfantis: this is a random event. If you successfully complete what he asks of you, you can ask for Youth as a reward, which will allow you to reverse-age Iverlantho for 7 years.
- There’s an exploration event that can reverse-age your king for several years, but it is very rare and cannot be reliably found.
- There is a random, relatively rare, event when spirits will warn you Iverlantho is about to die. You can reverse-age him if you successfully summon the other spirits to prolong his life.
Finally, if Iverlantho still dies at the end of a year, you can simply reload the game until he doesn’t.
Loss Achievements
You need to get a random event where Ergeshite traders visit your clan and offer to sell you dried goat meat. Get it from them and let your food run low (sell your food supplies, remove blessings and spirits that give you extra food, etc.). You will be asked whether you want to eat the goat meat – do so. The meat may or may not be human flesh – sometimes one of your ring members may tell you they suspect it is, but often none of them will suspect anything. If the meat is actual goat, you’ll need to wait for the event to trigger again, in this game or the next one. If the meat does turn out to be human flesh, you will get an event where your clan members figure out what they just ate. Choose to embrace cannibalism. Then simply follow the chain of events for a while – after a year or two, the other clans of the valley will learn your secret and unite to destroy you, earning you this achievement.
During the game’s finale in the Dead World, your last surviving clan member must perish before reaching the end. Get a weak quester and choose options that your quester is unlikely to succeed at and it shouldn’t be too hard. It also helps if you don’t uphold the four virtues (see the Victory achievements section) or explore the map during the game. I think that choosing to “lie down and die” when you reach a fork also counts, but haven’t tested this.
You can get this by having too few people, horses or cows, or if too many of your people are sick. One way to do this is: never put magic in Pastures, and ignore all herd blessings. Sell away your cows or horses. Allow your lands to get plundered whenever you’re attacked. Never restore your pastures. There’s an even when you can choose to let Teghern kill half your cows. Alternatively, you can play on the hardest difficulty level, never put clan magic in Health, don’t have a Chalana Arroy follower on your ring, and never use any Curing blessings. Oh, and avoid Elmal’s decade blessings that restore your lost cows/horses/people.
This one’s tricky. At some point of the game you may hear of a gigantic gorp growing in another clan’s lands. Simply ignore it long enough and you will trigger this achievement. When you’re forced to do something about it, try to deliberately fail, for example by choosing to sacrifice to a god and spending only 1 good. It may help if you make Chaos deals and otherwise allow Chaos to spread through the valley, but I haven’t confirmed this.
Iverlantho, Venef and Erenlanth must all be dead or have never been born. The easiest way to accomplish this is to send Iverlantho to perform the Humakt ritual at the beginning on the game, and get him killed when fighting Zorak Zoran. Note that this will result in a game loss.
When Teghern visits and offers to destroy a clan, choose your own clan. The event is random, just keep playing until you get it.
Ride Like the Wind Related Achievements
You must bring a character from Ride Like the Wind into Lights Going Out. There are two heroes who qualify: Yatakan and Ayvtu, and two events where they may be sent into the future: one is when Elmal visits your clan (this happens after the Skyquake, and usually only if you aren’t doing too well), and the other is the Battle on the Hill of Gold, which you can reach any time through Exploration – simply choose to ride into the manifestation. After you send a hero to the future, you must win the game. Then play LGO with the same clan. You can recover your hero in LGO by exploring the Hill of Gold if that was where s/he disappeared during RLTW, or by exploring the Northern Reach (the land north of the Hill of Gold, formerly covered by the glacier). Note that you may have to visit the location several times until you find your hero.
Import a game from Ride Like the Wind. See this thread.
Event Related Achievements
You must complete the Summons of Nontraya ritual and severely wound him. You will learn of the ritual after a random event involving Talokans attacking your clan. Then you must gain the assistance of five other clans for the ritual via Diplomacy. You must also acquire the necessary knowledge through your or another clan’s lore keepers. After Nontraya is summoned, you must defeat him decisively to earn the achievement.
Defeat all three great Chaos monsters (Author of Sores, Eater of Skin, Maker of Bad Growth) with a long hero or your warriors in a single game – calling on gods to banish them does not count towards this achievement! Using an Elmal or Osara worshipper with Renowned or Heroic Combat skill as a “lone hero” is probably the best choice. Put magic in Combat during Sacred Time to help. Having a temple to Elmal probably helps too, but I haven’t verified this.
Can only be done by Sereden or Serestev. There are two ways to do it, and both rely on luck. One is to send them to a Gods’ War portal and encounter Pocharngo (random chance), and then successfully “undo it with a new understanding”. The other, more reliable, way is to select one of them as your quester during the Orlanth and Ernalda ritual. You have a 3-in-4 chance of getting the Unholy Trio/Rashoran encounter. Successfully choose the “seek Rashoran’s wisdom” and you’ll get the achievement.
At the very end of the game you’ll face off against Teghern. You can play to your last survivor’s strengths and beat him in combat (having Kerenna/Korestene’s Sword from the Undeath’s Herald event helps a lot), or defeat him with the values your clan lived by. As long as you upheld the four virtues (see above) it should be easy to kill him.
Towards the end of the game, you will be visited by Undeath’s Herald. Choose to have Kerenna or Korestene duel it. They’ll kill each other, and you’ll get the achievement. It might work with a generic Humakt noble, but I haven’t tried it.
At some point in the game, you’ll probably hear another clan is attempting a ritual to contact Orlanth and Ernalda. It seems that they’ll always fail, regardless of your reaction. When this happens, try to do it yourself (sometimes, no other clan even attempts it, but instead your lore keepers will tell you of the possibility). You need to gather clans to support you (via Diplomacy). You also need to learn more about it either from your sages or another clan’s (you will be prompted to do this via events). Finally, you need at least one wedding treasure, preferably more. These can be sometimes acquired through events, but more likely you’ll need to send Exploration parties and give them the appropriate mission. The game will inform you via an event when you have enough to do the ritual – you can then choose to either do it immediately or continue gathering treasures/helpers. When you’re ready, do the Orlanth and Ernalda ritual and make it to the end (it’s not that hard if you’ve properly prepared yourself). Note that the obstacles you’ll face during the ritual are partly randomized.
Action Related Achievements
You need 25 treasures for this. Tips for achieving this:
- Get a good production of Goods going and send Caravans to buy as many treasures as possible. Keeping your temple of Issaries intact during the Prolog will allow you to establish two extra trade routes, while having an Issaries devotee on your clan ring will allow one extra trade route; these will bring in more Goods during the year.
- You can try recovering the Southern Ram Kingdoms treasures by exploring the four kingdoms’ lands – this seems to be much easier early in the game.
- You can ask for a treasure each time you successfully beat a Gods’ War portal quest.
- While you are doing the preparations for the Orlanth and Ernalda ritual, you have the option to “Seek Treasure for Gods War Journey” on the Map screen. This is a relatively reliable way to acquire a bunch of them. You can even postpone the ritual so that you have more time to find these treasures (I think there are 13 of them in all). Using blessings like Inilla’s “Find” can help you find them quicker. Also don’t forget to put magic into Exploration during Sacred Time, and use any spirits to protect your explorers.
- During clan creation choose to ward Berenstead against Dwarves – this will help prevent the little bearded sneaks from stealing your treasures.
- You can gain treasures during certain events, but these aren’t common.
On the game’s start screen, click on the Kitfox logo and hold it down until it changes color; if it doesn’t work, try moving your mouse around a little bit while holding your LMB down on the logo. Then start a new game and you will begin as the Six Stars clan, whose members are based on the dev team, and you will earn the achievement.
Thanks to Fit_Trainer1878, lyreofsheliak and SeezTinne for figuring this one out.
These are easy, simply send an emissary/caravan to each and every clan in the valley. The list tells you which clans your envoys/traders have already visited.
This isn’t very hard. Usually, simply sending an Emissary, choosing to end a feud and paying them enough Goods will do it.
Simply reveal a certain percentage of the map (I forget exactly what it is, but it’s less than in Ride Like the Wind). It’s not too hard if you focus on exploring. Choosing “forward movement” as your Rider virtue during clan creation helps a lot as it allows you to put an additional point of magic into Exploring. The Stallion and Caribou spirits can help with exploration, and treasures that can help include the Borrowed Beard (if the condition is met) and Redalda’s Map.
During clan creation, you must choose to keep at least a shrine to all four dead gods. Then, during the game, build a shrine to all your remaining gods except Eurmal (you can’t build a shine to him anyway). Don’t wait too long because other gods will die during the game and potentially lock you out of this achievement.
You need to collect 10 spirits for this. Send Shamans to search for spirits. Putting magic into Rituals during Sacred Time can help. Also, Hanth can help you gain up to six spirits when the Three Hungers chain event begins, so do what you can to make sure he succeeds. Otherwise there are not any reliable ways to get additional spirits – sometimes you can get them by exploring or through events, but you can’t count on this.
Keep your population alive. Use Voriof’s blessing to protect your boys. Have a healer on the Ring and a temple to Chalana Arroy to reduce casualties. Do the Summons of Nontraya ritual and defeat him fully so that Chalana doesn’t die later in the game. Use Elmal’s blessings to reduce combat casualties. The Vole spirit can help you (keep it active whenever you can), and there’s a treasure that increases the effectiveness of the Recruit Clan Members venture. Avoid fighting to much, but don’t overdo it, as a clan that never raids will be seen as weak and other clans will start raiding you. Use Elmal’s decade blessing to replace lost people (you cannot do it two decades in a row, however). Eventually you’ll get an event where you can choose to split the clan.
Simply reorganize your clan ring and put a Eurmal trickster as your chief.
