The gaming world may seem to love and embrace Jesus Christ, but not the Biblical version. Many have created a false christ in their own image, leading people astray. In this guide, we will explain why Jesus warned us about this and how it is spreading even in modern day churches. We encourage you to read your Bible and know the truth about God. By knowing His Word, we can test everything we see and hear in this world. This is the truth we need to stand strong against the schemes of the evil one. (Ephesians 6:10-13)
The world loves Jesus until it gets Biblical.
“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.” “You will be hated by all for my name’s sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved”. – Jesus Christ (John 15:18-20; Matthew 10:22)
Jesus Christ in His own words. Jesus explains why the world hates Him and tells His followers they will be hated and persecuted the same way. All this seems contradicting to what we see in our world today. The world today seems to LOVE Jesus. That is because the world does not follow the real Jesus Christ but a false christ. A christ made in their own image and by doing so they violate the second commandment.
Everyone seems to want a piece of Jesus nowadays. Other religions, spiritual movements, even the culture all hijack Jesus and use Him as a tool to conform to their wants and needs to push their own agenda. The world loves Jesus until it gets Biblical.
“Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” -Jesus Christ (Matthew 24:4-5)
Jesus Christ tells us that in the last days MANY false christs will come and lead MANY astray. This is all part of the great falling away and end time deception. The false christ we see being pushed today is a cosmic christ. A universalist jesus. A jesus taken away from the Holy Bible and molded to fit the patterns of the world. A fluffy, cuddly jesus who loves all and is loved by all, who gives suggestions instead of commandments. A jesus who is affirming, who is exactly like us, a jesus who “gets us”. A jesus who never mentions the need for repentance and being born again. A jesus who never commands to “Go and sin no more”. A jesus you keep as a ‘Wild Card’ hidden far away in your pocket, in case it could be usefull one day, while continuing living like a devil. The world LOVES this version of Jesus because it tickles their itching ears. It tells them exactly what they want to hear. It should be no surprise that the world welcomes this Jesus with open arms.
The reason we know of Jesus Christ and the things He actually did and taught is because they were faithfully written down in The Bible (God’s Word). So why does the world takes Jesus out of Scripture and try to seperate Him from God’s Word? Well, for the same reason Jesus Christ said He is hated and also His followers. He said:
“But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have been guilty of sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.” (John 15:21-22)
The reason why the world does not want the Biblical Jesus Christ is because they are born of the world, they love their sin, they love the world and the world does not know God. They are not children of God (John 1:12-13). They are not part of His flock (John 10:16). They are not His sheep (John 10:26). They listen to the voice of strangers instead of listening to His voice (John 10:27). They are of the world and belong to their father the devil (John 8:23; John 8:43-44). They choose darkness over light (John 3:19). They take joy in deceptions and unrighteousness instead of rejoicing in the truth (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12). They are not willing to crucify their flesh with it’s sinful desires (Galatians 5:24). They do not want a God who shows them their sins and their need for a Savior and repentance (Romans 3:10-12). They do not want to hear that by default they are heading to hell and that this is why Jesus explained that we must be born again, born from the spirit (John 3:3). They want a Jesus who is in agreement with all they do and want to do, who tolerates everything. All in the name of “God is love”. But since the world does not know God, they also have an unbiblical definition of what love is.
The Biblical definition of love originates in God, for God is love. Love speaks God’s truth and that means the whole truth. Also the more difficult parts of it. And it is that truth that will created hostility, resistment and hate from the world towards us as followers of Christ. The world hates Jesus Christ and it hates us and all that we have to say. In a culture where the focus is on wanting to be liked by everyone and not hurt anyones feelings, our loyalty will be put to the test. Are we conforming to the world and sugercoat Biblical truths in order to be liked by others? Galatians 1:10 instructs us to not focus on pleasing man but to focus on doing the will of God:
“For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”
The real Jesus Christ taught more about hell than about heaven because of the seriousness and urgency of it. Jesus taught about love but He also taught about hate and sacrifice. Jesus never taught tolerance. He taught repentance. Jesus Christ did not came to bring peace. He came to bring division and a sword:
“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword…A person’s enemies will be those of his own household. Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.” Matthew 10:34-38. “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.” Luke 14:26
The reality is that according to Jesus Christ, those who are His sheep and do follow Him will be hated and even persecuted by all nations for His name. That is denying yourself, pick up your cross daily and follow Him in full effect (Luke 9:23). Those who want to save their life will lose it, but those who lose their life for His sake, will find it (Matthew 16:25). Not many are willing to make this kind of sacrifice and commitment. Many will profess Christ with their mouths but in their hearts they do not follow Him (Matthew 15:8-9). Their hearts are far removed from Him. They might do things in His name but they are not part of the body of Christ(1 Corinthians 12:12-13) and were never born again of the spirit. The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God. We can only know God when we are born of the spirit (1 Corinthians 2:11-14). They have no intimite relationship with Him the way marriage reflects Christ and his bride the church, the way marriage is a union of two joined together and becoming one flesh (Ephesians 5:30-32). The Biblical meaning of ‘knowing’ someone (Genesis 4:1). They do not know Him and He does not know them either (Matthew 7:21-23).
We are commanded to speak God’s truth and God’s truth will offend others. Many will conform to the world because they want to be liked by the world, and make themselves a friend of this world. But friendship with the world is enmity with God (James 4:4)
Do you follow thee biblical Christ who actually saves? Or a christ made in your own image, one that makes you feel temporarely comfortable but leads you staight to hell? In a world of increasing deception, our loyalty and commitment to God will be tested. Choose God. Do not compromise God’s truth. It may cost you everything, but in the end, having the real Jesus Christ means gain (Philippians 1:21). Only through Him we are saved.
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:1
